Hi Burnt, I got the same e-mail, just before I deleted it, I scanned and had to laugh at the MK "business apparel" deal.  Now where on earth would we wear that besides a MK meeting.  I don't know about you,  but that doesn't go with hose and closed-toed shoes.  rofl rofl

AVOID THAT MKREWARDS CARD LIKE A PINK PLAGUE!!!

Ok, whew.  I'm so sorry for the  :drama: on that but I have huge issues with that card, the fact that Chase is affiliating themselves with MK and the fact that MK recruiters are under the impression that they are financial advisors because of it!

Long story short, my director used to tell people (prolly still does) that you could apply for the card online and would receive at least a $1000 limit to do a $600 order.  She told people that this was because Chase understood how the MK business operated and they knew that people using the card were going to be making a large first purchase with it.  Ok, at Seminar I applied for the card.  I looked over the interest rate, not horrible and was within the range that I was hopeful to get on cards at that point.  That card came in with a $500 limit and a 24% apr.  I called Chase and wanted to know the how and why of that little surprise.  They do NOT guarantee any limit for the card, they do not have any kind of arrangements worked out with MK.  I brought this up with my director by asking her how she knew the bit about the $1000 limit and so on.  Her reply was it had just done that each time, that's how she knew.  As I'm standing there telling her that she's wrong and why she insisted on trying to leave the room.  I followed because I'm absolutely sure that she wouldn't want to miss the information that I was sharing with her!

AND because of my own goof up (i.e. missed the payment due date by two days) my apr is now 29.99% which is ridiculous and something else that is ridiculous, after I was out of MK, I called Chase to say so and see if I could switch to a neutral card and learned something very interesting.  It seems that MK decided to take away the option of doing an affiliation switch on the card.  Most companies will leave the option available for a person to switch their card over to something else.  Not MK, when the woman looked it up for me to see what was available, I get the following, "Oh, that's interesting, why would they do that, this doesn't make sense, um, it looks like the company did away with the switch option" and I'm sitting there knowing what she meant but still having to ask her and sure enough, if you're not an MK consultant, that's fine, you can still use the card but if you don't want to use the card, you have to close it which of course can hurt your credit.

I did not realize that I had a Soapbox on this, honestly.  It just ticks me off so bad that even when a person tries to clean up their credit and get that financial foothold back that MK Corporate has found yet another way to bite them on the butt cheek.
