 :morning:

I'm a new consultant.  Joined mostly for personal use and a few steady clients.  I never intend to recruit or do SCC.  I'm learning quickly - thanks to you wonderful  :thnkyou: ladies how  :roseglass: I am!!!  Would somebody chime in on the following:

1.  My  Kaybot e-mailed me last night to ask if I and 3 other consultants in my town (we're all about 45 min. to 1 hour from her) can get together for a "product training meeting" at a local restaurant where I live.  Ok, is this likely to be actual training or is it going to turn into "oh, by the way, why don't you bring a friend  :chrldr2:" thing?

2.  I asked  Kaybot if it's true that the platinum compacts and refills are being discontinued.  She answered "not that I know of but we've been promised we'll always be able to get refills if they do."  Am I being crapped upon here? :mato

Appreciate your input!

#1 all depends on your director. If it had been me, I would have done as I promoted. Some 'others' would turn it into a recruiting event. But, I think it would be hard to have good product training at a restaurant unless she is wanting to update you on new stuff. Just ask her specifically what is involved, how much time, etc.
#2 there is a rumour - hard to say. I heard black was coming out. Others may have more info.
Hope that helps!

1.  It's possible that she is trying to meet with you all to tell you about the new products coming out in the next few weeks and encourage you to place orders.  If you joined for personal use, it's likely you didn't do a large initial inventory order (a  good thing).  If she does try to turn it into a recruiting event, just ignore it.  Go for the product training, don't bring anyone with you, and then leave.

2.  Based on my sources, there ARE a lot of product changes coming down the pike.  The company (in their wisdom in my opinion) is being very hush-hush, even with the NSDs (who just returned from their Spring trip with the company), about the nature of them.  They know that once they tell the NSDs they may as well have announced it to the whole salesforce.  The best thing to do in an environment of change and rumors of change is to keep your inventory low, buy only what you know you can sell quickly and/or use yourself.  Don't get caught, or caught-up!

You may get a recruiting talk....but that is how you will get to know a little bit more about your director and her motives.  She could be blinded by the pink fog, too.

The directors have not been told officially about the compacts...at this point.  I think that the NSDs know but have been told it had better not get out....which is how it has gotten out thus far.  My personal opinion, only.

About the Platinum Compacts...
Yes, they are changing.
When they change, will the old inserts be available after? Probably....on EBay!!!   :laugh3:
Is it confirmed? Yes...(just not officially by MK)
Don't stock up on color compacts, eye pans, cheek pans, or lipsticks.
Buy what people are ordering, or it will be on your shelf later.
Just a tip....   dance

 :morning:

As for the MK company changing things all the time.....in my course as a consultant I have been through the square pink, oval pink, and now silver compacts.  All I can say is  :bafraid:  DON"T stock up on anything that remotely goes into these compacts.  I can remember I had about 100 of the old foam trays and then they changed to the more compact face trays.  It makes me wonder if the company thinks that they have to keep changing to compete with the other companies out there.  All I can say is I'm SO glad I don't sell it anymore!  I can't begin to count the times I was left with a whole bunch of discontinued stuff and no $$ to buy the new.  What a relief now to not be in that situation!

fav color is purple:  I don't think there's such a thing as "actual" training in Mary Kay (at least not with most directors!!!)

Maybe she:
- wants you to order more inventory
- wants you to recruit people and "move up the success ladder"
- wants you to go to Seminar

Be wary !  And show up in jeans and a t-shirt.. without makeup...and order a beer.  smiley  It will make us laugh!

Hi
What happens if you decide to send your inventory back and you have some things that have bee discontinued?  do they take them back and give you next to nothing back$?
I've been on the fence about returning my inventory and the more I read here the more I'm thinking I better it do it soon.

They give you the last pick sale price.  You can find that amount in product replacement by typing in the product number and the bottom  of the form and hitting search.  It fills out the top part of the form with the final pink sale price.
