Ok maybe it's just me but when I received this email from my director it struck a chord.  Last time I check this was not the MK way or the "GO GIVE" attitude we were taught.

I HAVE CONFIRMED WITH THE HOSTING DIRECTOR, RENA WILL BE HERE IN JUNE.
PLEASE MAKE NOT OF THIS EVENT.
SHE IS ONE OF THE GREATS!
YOU & YOUR PROSPECTS MUST BE IN THE SPACE OF THIS AMAZING WOMAN.

FORGET ABOUT MARY KAY, SHE HAVE SURVIVED UNBELIEVABLE CIRCUMSTANCES IN HER LIFE.  SHE IS AN INSPIRATION TO EVERYONE SHE TOUCHES!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE READ THESE ATTACHMENTS

IF YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN TICKET PURCHASE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

FORGET ABOUT MARY KAY?!?!?!  Is she serious?  Like I said, maybe it's just me but it seems like you shouldn't just forget about MK since she built the company you are so deeply obsessed with.  Yes I understand Rena has been through hell the last few years and my heart really does go out to her but let's be serious!!  Sorry I haven't posted anything from my crazy director in awhile so I thought I would lighten everyone's day.

Yep, we've been missing the posts from CCG's loco  Kaybot.  For one thing, she really needs to go back to grammar school.  Yikes!  I haven't seen English as poor as that since I read GW's last speech!  (sorry for the prez-bashing there.)

I do think your Kaybot has no real understanding of what Mary Kay Ash was all about.  Just like so many  Kaybot Kaybot that think they're on her path and have wandered down an entirely different and misguided path instead.  Loco Kaybot still sounds like one person you should stay far, far away from.  (Oops, I just ended my sentence in a preposition.   :doh)

Keep those letters coming, CCG! :giggle

Just to add my twocents, but since when should someone have to purchase tickets to see someone inspirational, motivating, and just amazing. I can meet people who have overcome the worst by going to church...for free. Or even just meeting new people on the streets..also free. If your  Kaybot is so "forget MK" then they shouldn't be charging for the event. What nonsense!

I'm gonna step out on a limb here and try not to get blasted.  I think what she was trying to say (and it was very hard to decipher in the horror of her spelling and grammer) was excluding what Rena has accomlished in MK, her life is still inspirational.  That's how I took it to mean at least.

I do have to add though that you would think a director could spellcheck or reread her emails before sending them out.  The PLEASE MAKE NOT OF THIS EVENT was so confusing to me.  I had to read it 5 times before I understood she meant please make a note of this.  And do they teach directors at DIT to always send out emails to people in all caps?  What is that about anyways?

Whew!  I agree, that email is terrible!  Spelling, grammar, the whole thing is very unprofessional.

That said, I do agree with her statement about Rena.  I have been in MK for a VERY long time and have seen Rena many times.  I used to buy the tapes of her classes from Seminar (they used to do that--they do it differently now).  Anyway, I have learned many, many life lessons from listening to her.  My kids, grown now, still have "Rena quotes" in their vocabulary, just as we have Mary Kay sayings.  I know that probably makes ya'll sort of sick, but it's true.  I can't tell you how many times I have told my kids, "Start from where you are."  That is something I got from Rena.  Many things she says about Mary Kay can be applied to life.

And being a cancer survivor for about 20 years (seriously) along with an incredible work ethic, makes her pretty special in my book.

As far as paying to see her, there are many costs involved in putting on an event like this.  People are always talking about director expenses, yet when something like this comes along they expect it to be for free to the attendees.  The costs have to be covered somehow, right?  Should the directors pay for it?

Sorry if I seem to be on a Soapbox here--I don't mean to be.  But I would encourage anyone to go hear Rena, whether they were interested in Mary Kay or not.

I would think MKC should pay for the expenses for people to hear such an inspirational woman.  We all know they are making the big bucks and I don't think they all are wearing "big girl panties " if you know what I mean. :puhleeze:

I agree Rena is a phenomenal woman and I'm not putting her down in anyway I promise!  It just really caught me off guard that she said "forget about Mary Kay" in a to hell with her kind of way.  I think she could have still gotten the same point across without the forget about Mary Kay comment, but that's the kind of Kooth she has!  Oh and as for the emails, they are ALL like that!!  Always misspelled words and in all caps, she likes to say it's from all of her excitement but I'm sure she's just too damn lazy to click the caps button.  I mean lets face it, then she would have to hit it again when she enters all of her profiles on-line and that is way too much work for a director!!  I usually have a raging migraine by the time I'm done reading everything!  But anywhoo.....I totally agree with all of you, Rena is fabulous and a big inspiration and I do feel for all of the struggles she's been through.  The statement she made about Mary Kay was the only part that caught me off guard.

I have also sent similar emails to my unit when Rena was coming to town, just to let them know that the event was not just an MK guest event, it was an event that anyone, in any field, male or female, would be grateful that they attended.

I saw her once before my mother and sister developed breast cancer and once after.  She personally wrote my mother a note at the loss of my father after the first time that I saw her.  The second time that I saw her, I had to go up and thank her for the perspective that she gave me to handle what my mother and sister were dealing with.  I have seen Rena bashed before, but I have great respect for this woman.
