Coming out of the fog

« on: March 04, 2008, 12:38:36 PM »

I heard there would be a new larger compact to replace the old color palette to come out this fall.  Anyone else heard that?

Yeah, I think it is coming with the March 15 (10th if you did whatever) order form, BUT, ... the catch is you have to order like $ 600 THEN you are eligible to purchase TWO (2) of these bigger compacts.  If you want 4, you gotta order
$ 1,200 -- that's what I've heard.  That way you don't sell them to customers & use them for display ONLY!

The thing Tam is talking about is a display tray like the old silver (pink before) that held a bunch of cheek or eye. It was a section 2 thing.

I have heard that there is a larger compact coming out this fall. Maybe called the 'compact pro' and price of around $35.

I think they just don't want consultants selling the section 2 when they could sell the section 1. That was always a thing with the display tray too. That way why they came out with the palette in the first place.

How are consultants supposed to keep up with these new eye colors?  Have you seen them?

They are like the size of 1 side of the 2 tone current eye shadows - tiny!  Which, maybe they'd be gone faster? but, how do you sell, same price - 1/2 size?

And the blush and bronzers are small too.  Guess storage space won't be a problem anymore!

I didn't think I'd deleted this e-mail from ESSD, re: new products.  I copied part of it re: compacts & display trays below.  It also tells about the new colors, etc.  Anyone what that info?

Cosmetic Display Tray (in Section 2 & $3 ea.):

You are going to love this tray designed to professionally hold your color and foundation products at your classes and events.  After witnessing the excitement at Leadership Conference and discussing with the NSD Advisory Board, there is concern that because it is such a great value, some members of the sales force may purchase this tool for resale to customers.  Because this item was developed as a Section 2 business tool only, inventory levels will not support such retail activity.

We do not want to promote the Cosmetic Display Tray as a customer retail item!!!!  Whatever we teach our consultants in the beginning will stick.  Two reasons for not promoting this as a retail item:  1.  it is Section 2 and counts toward no contests nor commissions.  2.  In August we will have a new larger compact The Compact Pro.  Selling a Section 2 item could jeopardize future sales of the Compact Pro.  The new compact will hold 6 eye shadows.  Most customers don't buy more than that at one time.
Encourage all consultants to use the Cosmetic Display Tray as a personal business tool only.   A Beauty Consultant also could miss out on Seminar retail credit as well as profits from sales of the Compact Pro.

Quantities Limited Temporarily:

Because the company is now forseeing a much higher than anticipated demand for this new item, there will be new new temporary criteria on how this item may be purchased:

All Independent Sales Directors and above who place a $600 wholesale Section 1 order beginning Feb. 26, 2008, will qualify to order two display trays. For each additional $600 wholesale Section 1 order placed, two more Cosmetic Display Trays may be purchased.

-For example, a $2,400 wholesale Section 1 order placed on Feb. 26, qualifies for ordering eight Cosmetic Display Trays.

For Independent Beauty Consultants, (including those who qualify for the Preferred Customer Program Early Offer, March 10-15), the same ordering limits go into effect.

- For example, a $1,200 wholesale Section 1 order placed on March 10, through the Preferred Customer Program Early Offer, is eligible for the purchase of four Cosmetic Display Trays.
- For example, an $1,800 wholesale Section 1 order placed on March 15, is eligible for the purchase of six Cosmetic Display Trays.
The Cosmetic Display Tray will not be offered as the Spring 2008 Month 3 BizBuilders bonus (May 16 - June 15, 2008), as printed in the March 16 Quarterly Power Plan. The Month 3 BizBuilders bonus will feature each of the two Summer 2008 Color Cards (pk./5).  Please also note that the printed Spring 2008 Early Ordering and Consultant order forms do not reflect these new ordering guidelines.

Inventories and demand will be re-evaluated going forward and we will keep you posted on any changes to the criteria. We appreciate your understanding in giving everyone the opportunity to purchase this wonderful new item.

As part of the new black compacts, there will be a new large compact called "The Compact Pro." It will retail for $35 and will be out in fall.

I have seen some of the new stuff. The eye colors are more square - but bigger than 1/2 of the old. I don't know how deep they are though.
One thing I really liked is no box. They are in a plastic package that you can see through. No more sliding cover! Plus, the name is at the top on an angle, so easy to store. Plus, I think customers with lots of colors can leave them just in the orginal packaging.

I don't know how much the 'compact pro' will hold. The new compact is more versatile - you can put them horizontal or vertical.
