Last week I signed my agreement and ordered my kit. How in the world did THAT happen?
Well this week I informed my recruiter and director that I had changed my mind and had decided not to sell.
The director left me a voicemail asking if I was interested in being a Personal Use Consultant.
I have been considering it. Are there any drawbacks to doing that? Does that screw up income tax or does it have to be reported at all since I won't be making money if I decide to do it?

Ahh, don't do it! Don't do it! Don't do it! Did I mention you shouldn't do it? Personal Use Consultants are subject to the tax rules as any other consultant, the only difference is you don't have to claim as much because your purchase and prize totals won't be that much. But aside from any tax implications, as a PUC you have to purchase at least $200 wholesale every 3 months to keep that 50% or the next time you order, you have to order that $200 again - meaning, you can't just order as you need things, you have to keep ordering a minimum amount or you'll be terminated. Plus, as an active consultant, you'll get all the marketing and emails from MK and your director and those are nightmares! If you really like the product, get it here on the Trading Board for wholesale. You can get only what you need and we won't bug you for more purchases or hit you with hidden costs! Call your director back and tell her to cancel your order or that you'll be returning the unopened box to MK as soon as you receive it. Just my .

Another drawback to being a personal use consultant is that you just paid $100 for your kit and most of that stuff you won't have any use for. It's better to return your kit, get your $100 back and just get the items you need 1/2 off and sometimes even less from our trading board.

Please!!!!!!! Cancel your contract and send everything back unopened. You can buy you goods here from women that could not send everything back. You will pay wholesale, retail tax and shipping most of the time. You are paying only what we paid. And by buying here you will be helping those of us who tried MK and decided it was not for us, clear our debt.

Actually you only have to order every 11 months, but it will have to be $400.00 retail ($200.00 wholesale). If you had recruits you would have to order more often. It still would not be worth it. You will not get any tax deductions since you would not be selling. I agree with everyone though. It is NOT worth it!!!!!!!! You will get hounded all the time, because MK Directors think NO means maybe, so she will be on you all the time to get you to order EVERY month!!!!!! Send the kit back!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately I can't send the kit back since I have opened it. It's ok - lesson learned - and I can give away the stuff that I can't use.

Even though you have opened the box you should still be able to return it. Put everything back in and seal the box with the same type of tape. Besides when it gets back to MKC it is totally destroyed. Anything returned to MKC is destroyed, you should see the stack of stuff in the distribution center.

Yes, I agree, send it back while you still can! Even as "personal use", you'll probably still spend more than you planned, because when the new items come out each quarter, your recruiter and director will try to convince you that you "must" try the new products, they are so cutting edge, and oh, be sure to order a few extra -- your mom/sister/etc. will want one, too, when she sees yours!

Ok, you guys have convinced me. No Personal Use Consulting for me! I won't even place "just one" order. Once the stuff in my kit is gone (I know, I know, but I really don't waaaaaaant to return it) I'm done with MK.

You have gotten some great advice from the ladies here! Here is a thought if you want to keep the starter kit (although I also tink you should send it back!): Keep the items you use, and then trade the other items here for what you want!

Hey, ladies. I have a question, the director I just signed up with gave me my starter kit at a discounted rate. I do like the 2 bags I get (unfortunately, I'm trying to stop wearing "blah" colors so the black and pink are as colorful as I'll get). I would like to tinker with and try everything in the starter kit. I'm really thinking about backing out very soon, like before I can even place an inventory order. What's the best way to get out of it? I have a girlfriend that has started selling, and she's been really, really good at her parties and soliciting new people, and I'll just order product from here.
But thank you thank you thank you for posting about the PUC status and thank you to those of you that responded. I was really wondering how that worked.
This site is AWESOME!!!!!!

Busy, just be prepared for the director to bug the hell out of you for 2 months, she has that long to get you to order a qualified order ($600.00 or more), just tell her you have changed your mind! I find it amazing how many directors are buying starter kits to "sell or give" to their recruits! Hmmmm, trying to keep them from returning them? I think you should tell her you want your money back! She will have to do it!!!!!!!! Get out now!!!!! Trust us!!!!!!!!
