Okay, Ladies, now that I'm coming off my high and have removed my  :rosey:,  I was talking with my friend, who is now a member of this site  :congrats:, and she was telling me there are certain things I cannot sell to people, they can only be given away when they purchase so many sets of certain items in the skincare line. I know someone who wants some of the roll up bags for the women at her family reunion, and a few other people, who ironically, used to sell MK and have some of the consultant items and would like to purchase more of them without bidding on E-bay.  Why can I not sell these items, since I've purchased them from the company?

Also, what if I want a few of those for myself and the women in my family? Would I have to justify ordering them for anyone? I don't see how it's hurting MK if I'm purchasing them with MY money (that they're pocketing), it's not like I'm lining up at the back of a strip club and handing them out to Tawny and Lacey and the rest of the girls (not a bad idea, really).  :laugh3:

What are some of the guidelines for your inventory and consultant items.  I only signed up to be in MK on Monday, and I already feel like having some  :wineo:

Thanks,
Abby

Your are an INDEPENDENT consultant. If you want to buy them for yourself or whoever you answer to nobody. The deal with the rollup being section 2 is that it's supposed to be a selling tool. The hope is women love the bag so they'll shell out $300 to get it full of stuff. If you sell it to them empty than what's your leverage to get them to buy the miracle set, a color 101 etc. If you know these women don't want MK products and your not shooting yourself in the foot by selling them the items then go ahead. Since they are former consultants you could ask them to cover some shipping since they know you are doing them a favor by selling them a section 2 item.

I agree. You are an Independent sales woman.  I know many who sell the Sec. 2 travel/trial size items (like Satin Hands lotion) to their customers for something like .75 - 1.00 each... that amount covers their tax and a little toward their shipping cost.  Why not sell the Travel Roll-Up Bag too?  But I would make sure I added enough on to cover the sales tax and some for shipping.  I guess I wouldn't 'advertise' that you are willing to sell Sec. 2 products to people, but if someone asks, then I would handle it as I stated above.  And this may be something you only wish to do for your best customers.

Agreed. You bought them; you can give them away, sell them or do whatever else you like with them. Your friend is just tellig you what she's been taught. No one will "dlap your hand" for buying and sellig roll up bags. It's a ploy to convince ladies to buy $300 worth of product (which never happened for me). I have a friend whose mom loves the Satin Hands lotion and she'll buy the bag of sample sized ones from me. I sell it to her for what it cost me and she is a happy customer.

Sell them to your friends, give them to family members; do what you like because at the end of the day, you paid for them and they are now your property.

I agree with the others.  If someone wants to buy a roll up bag, then sell it to them.  And since it's section 2, you can more of less make up your own price.

At Christmas, I would sell the mini satin hands for $12.  Sold like hot cakes.  I think they were something like $2.50 on the section 2 order form.

I've sold the sample spa lotions for favors at baby and wedding showers, a bunch of former PCP gifts for prizes at a wedding shower, etc. They've always been big hits. I never really advertised, but they were the only things MK in the price range and my friends/customers asked.

When I asked my director, her attitude was "Don't advertise the service, but do it."

All that to say I agree with what everyone else posted. smiley
