Pardon my cluelessness, but can someone give a quick explanation of what those divisions are? Are they regional or do they have a queen bee at the top?
???

The divisions aren't regional because there are no territories in MK - it seems like they're more of a way to make sure everyone can make it to Seminar because they can't pack in all those "hundreds of thousands" of consultants in at once. You're seminar is determined by which seminar your director is in, which is determined by which seminar their director is in and so forth. Its a big "family tree" of sorts, which can be traced to NSDs in most cases. Not sure how consultants were originally sorted back in the day....maybe MKA took off her hat, it sang a song, a consultant put it on her head and the hat told her which division she was in? I've only had one cup of coffee this morning, so if I'm not making sense, I blame it on that!

I'm in (still waiting to get knocked off "Intouch") emerald, but I have no clue who my NSD is. There is no mention of her that I can find on my director's UnitNet site???? I've never even met my director, she seems nice enough from the few phone calls I've received. She didn't even try to convince me not to send back my product. Just wanted to know why. I kind of hate to admit it, but the fact that she was nice and understanding almost made me want to stay. Then reality hit, and the product got boxed up and shipped back.

Lucky one- Who was your national? Mine was GG.
Mine too. She is a piece of work. I have been to several Sapphire Seminars, most of them in Hall A. I cannot say that I hated it, I just was able to keep a clear head at these events. Throughout any of these MK gatherings (whether it is Seminar, Career Conference, or weekly meetings) I know exactly why I am going (or not going). I take the manufacturing tour and am always impressed with what I see. I am an engineer and have been to many a manufacturing plant and their's is top notch. And the fact that it is still in the US and not in China or Mexico still boggles my mind. The gaudy baubles are a trip too. Monsterous ribbons that are the size of my head draped all over consultants. I don't go to Seminar anymore because of the way I run my business now. I liked the way that I could see the new products at Seminar, and in most cases I didn't spend too much time at the awards ceremony. I did share a room with others in my unit and actually was comforted by that fact because I liked being surrounded by those I knew when I had to get on the bus or go to the convention center to get a meal. The religious component at Seminar is suffocating. Not at the main trainings by the company, but at the car driver classes or team leader classes. Some Directors are so obsessed with Jesus and cannot get it through their head's that even a Muslim or Jew or (Heaven forbid) an atheist can be successful at this business. There is a lot to sort out at Seminar, if you go. You have to go with a goal in mind of what to get out of it in terms of building your business. The flash is only part of Marketing Strategy...and you cannot get caught up in the flash. Keep a solid business plan in mind instead.
