Please read the following email I just got from my recruiter who is in DIQ! This is the second time she has asked me to do this! I put my comments in red!

Hey!! Thanks for getting back with me, I was hoping that you weren't avoiding my calls.Of course not! The last thing I want is for you to be avoiding me or for our friendship to be ruined over MK!! What friendship?I'm really glad you emailed me, I hope that everything is OK. Yes, I would still like the videos. I saw you today at church but you were busy talking to someone.
 
I am coming down to the last 5 days of the month to finish directorship. I have all the people in but I still need to get a few active. If I get down to the wire and don't have them active, would you mind if I put a order up under you to get you active. Are you kidding me? Does MK promote dishonesty? Is that enriching womens lives? I would order all new products that you don't have so that it wouldn't interfere (which it wouldn't anyway) but would make it not complicated at all for you returning your products in July. If you don't mind, I would really appreciate it. Sure just buy your directorship at my expense and then what will you do next time? Don't you always have to keep 30 active?If there is anything that you need that you want me to include in the order that is great, if not, that is fine also. Believe me I don't need a THING! I have $1800 worth sitting in my house - UNUSED!!!!!!!!!!
 
I am getting excited that I am almost there...I have been really busy the past 2 months, but it will all be worth it. How? Cause you will have to do this EVERYTIME!!!!!

She is setting herself up for major debt, and a horrible directorship experience.  Her director has to be telling her that everything is wonderful once she finishes and becomes a director, because she thinks it will all change.  She needs to be pointed to the director stories here or on Pink Truth to help clear some of the fog.  This is a horrible way to start directorship and it will only get worse!!

You all are right that she's setting herself up for major debt. But everything I've heard from directors who DIDN'T fudge the numbers tells me nobody's making executive income.

Even if she got everyone active without putting in her own money, this crazy DIQ cycle continues forever, and most directors who don't cheat still don't make anything more than poverty wages.

I think the more interesting point is WHY does MKC make DIQ and directorship requirements so impossible? Why is it set up so that recruits don't count unless they order $200 right away? The more you think about it, the more you realize that MKC prefers that most women stay in DIQ forever. That's where the consistent money is, for MKC at least.

This is such a scam it makes my stomach turn. Once she gives up on MK and takes her blinders off, she'll probably feel really dumb. I know I felt like an idiot and wanted to apologize to some of my friends once I got out.
 

she's not herself - literally. That's why she doesn't get that it's dishonest. A part of her does, but she's being reassured that the end result is worth doing these things now. She doesn't realize that she's going to have to keep doing them after she's a director, because she's being lied to. And she wouldn't believe you if you told her that (I wouldn't have). It's not her fault, really, and it's hard to stay friends when she's like that (I was like that). Her director and probably NSD, too, are assuring her that her friends WANT to HELP her. That's how they pitch this - that it's not dishonest, but that her friends want to help her, and she's also being fed more crap about how if she can just keep people in MK (or get them started), that they'll see the light of MK and may even be a superstar in her unit. It's a load, but she's too far in to see that - she has to push through at this point or admit the dream was totally false. And she'll realize that soon enough, and it will be hard for her, and she'll feel like a scumbag when she realizes what she did to her friends. She just doesn't know it now.

My friends stuck with me, and I'm so glad. I only lost 1 friend because of MK. I'm so grateful, because I was just like your friend and I believed all the hype for a long time. It's painful when it ends, and more painful later when you return to your normal self and realize how you treated your friends.

If you'd like a suggestion (and if not, please feel free to ignore me!), try to be totally honest with her without being mean or sarcastic or angry with her. You can answer her questions - tell her no, tell her why you're getting out, tell her anything you want on the factual things, and even maybe how her "favor" asking feels to you - why it's inappropriate, but do it all out of love for your friend. She's in a worse place than you by far and doesn't realize it at all. At best, some or all of what you say will stick with her and she may eventually realize the truth (hopefully sooner than later), and she'll need a TRUE friend with a level head both now and later.

Without knowing her, I'd believe (especially from her message, because I wrote/phoned the SAME one... sigh...) she does not believe she's manipulating you. She is the one being manipulated by her upline. I'm sorry you have to deal with this - I know it's hard. Good luck to you!
