I fell for that stupid pink ice ring too, got a plastic yellow ink pen w/ a bee silhouette on top and it says 'You gotta Bee-lieve' on it, and other than all the wasteful ribbons I got, the #1 worst "prize" I ever got was a photograph of my NSD with MKA, neither of whom I ever met. I didn't idolize them at all. Also won a phone conversation w/ my NSD in which I thought for sure she'd be able to give me some "inside scoop" or secrets to making it work. Nope. Less than a 5-min. conversation, and all she said was book, sell, recruit, replace inventory, etc. SAME OLD DOGMA!! My jaw was on the floor.

What? You didn't feel honored to have her on the phone? How ungrateful!

When I was in MK in 2005 I got a seminar pen from the 2003 seminar for a prize. It was for calling the hotline for 15 days.

OK, I did not receive this prize but receiving this letter from my NSD was the icing on a lot of decisions. Not going to Seminar last year (I understand I was joined by a lot of people in this one, including a number of SDs), leaving MK, etc.
You have to understand that we're talking about a NSD that was trying to have two retirement dinners at Seminar. I attended the event that was billed as her alleged retirement dinner at Seminar 2006 and then I'm getting a invitation to her NEXT retirement dinner at Seminar 2007. OK, whatever. Haven't you retired yet? Anyway, back to the prize...
So this letter's describing all the wonders that will be made available to all who come to Dallas/Seminar and come to this overpriced rubber chicken feed to honor her retirement. And she will be giving away prizes that she has earned throughout her time in MK (she wasn't specific but I shudder to think exactly what) and these special prizes will have the added cachet of having (wait for it ladies, believe me the best part is coming)...
HER NATIONAL MOLECULES ON THEM.
Oh boy.
I was actually an inpatient in the hospital when this letter came out; some kind soul in our unit called me, figuring that I could use a good laugh, and told me about this letter. I almost fell out of the bed laughing, triggered a whole bunch of monitors at the nurses' station, etc. I couldn't wait to get home and see this one in person!
So no, I did not spend the money on reservations to fly to Dallas, attend Seminar, eat rubber chicken, etc., so that I could take my now former NSD up on this really crappy deal.

I had the supreme pleasure of going to my NSD's house with my SD because my SD had to pick something up. She took me along because I put in a $600.00 intial inventory order. I was not impressed with the house(the fireplace looked like an elephant was standing in the middle of the livingroom HUGE and GRAY) I was even less impressed with the NSD. Not personable at all. In fact a brick has more personality. On top of that it was the bloody middle of summer in NC and she didn't even offer us a cool drink(puts southern hospitality into question).

hey guys...it's been quite a while since i've joined/posted, but just came back since i've been getting tons of emails and letters from my old director again...
i got tons of J U N K from both my director (crappy cheap jewelry) and my star consultant prizes weren't that great either. i got the "cool" watch 2 summers ago- the silver one w/ the pink face and "diamonds" around it...total crap- it fell apart within weeks. the only good star prize i got was the set of garden/ pathway lights- those were actually nice and work well and look good outside. i just wonder how so many of us can be sucked in to all of that?? i'm so embarassed!

this makes me LOL for those of you oldtimers who joined that yahoo group in 2005 for ex-MKers, do y'all remember the contest we had to see who had the worst prize? There were people who got the shampoo from hotel rooms (so this must be something the uplines were telling directors to do) - but my fave was the chick who got a NAPKIN from one of the seminar dinners. LOL (I can't remember if I posted this already, but this thread is so old and I don't want to have to reread all of it) At some point we all start repeating ourselves, and that's when we stick to the dieting and entertainment threads.
