I had someone approach me about this company.  Anyone have any knowledge or experience?

Reliv International, Inc. (Nasdaq: RELV - News), an international manufacturer and network marketer of nutritional supplements and other food technology products?

Just another MLM!

I have a friend who is in deep.  I was wondering about it myself.(not to join, just wondering what she has gotten herself into)  I went to an "event" with her, and they claimed that it could cure everything that could ail you and had people give testimonials to that effect.  They admit to being an mlm in their presentation.  They try to get you on three-way calls to hear other people's "success"  stories since they started taking reliv.  My friend was calling me several times a week to get me on these calls.  She said they call and support all of their customers with these calls each week to encourage them to stay with their regimine.  It kind of freaked me out, cuz she is nothing like her old self.  I tried the products and could not tell any miracles, but she would argue I did not stay on long enough.  Their basic set is over $100, so I told her, until I was debt-free, I did not feel i could even consider spending that much on nutritional supplements.  She spends most all of her time with other reliv people now, doing reliv stuff.  I am just glad I convinced her I was NOT interested, and she still is my friend.
If anyone knows more of a scoop- I would like to hear about it.

it sounds exactly like mannatech - and $100 for food supplements is a ripoff. Scam Scam Scam

the MLMs always use nutritional supplements and vitamins, and then make wild outrageous claims about how they cure cancer, etc. These people are sickos. (The ones who start these companies.) I'd be interested to know who the founder and CEO if RELIV is.....I betcha I could find some dirt on whoever it is. These scumbags just move from one MLM to the other, as they get shut down by the FTC or in some other hot water...

sounds just like my "friend", (i use the term lightly, she is like a kaybot, dont want to be around her anymore). She is into Advocare, which is also a nutritional supplement company. She only has advocare friends anymore. No one else can stand to be around her, because its all she talks about. And she has tried to recruit all of us. It's really scary how similar to a kaybot she is...makes me think, was I that way deep in the fog?

yuck!

Cool hair TGIF.  Pinkcaddy, If you go to Reliv.com, it will surely show who the CEO is.  Thanks for all the feedback, ladies....Homer

I also know some ladies who sell Advocare! OMG, I thought it was hard to sell MK! The price of their vitamins is around $40 every 2 weeks!!!!!! I bought some and didn't like them at all. You have to take them 4 times a day!!!!!!! Both women are dishartened by the company or upline whatever. Bad business!!!!!!!!  :troll

I appreciate the comments on RELIVE.  I have listened to a few stories and I am considering taking it.  I do not want to sell it, unless I see a big difference for me.  Even then, I will not stock any product for any company, no matter what.  I have heard that it really does wonderful things for Fibromyalgia, Memory, Lowering blood sugar, etc, etc.  I am so skeptical that I just can't seem to trust claims that are made.  I just want to feel better.  Thanks again, my friends. yourock

I have to say getting out of MK is like quitting drinking!!!! YOU CAN'T DABBLE AGAIN!!!!! Go to your local health food store, tell them what you want to try and see if they have something similar or BETTER!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Remember the horrible feelings you felt when you realized you got screwed by MK? It will feel worse next time cause "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me"!!!!!!   :blowkiss

Homer -
I looked at the nutritional content and the ingredients ... the PDF is on
http://www.reliv.com/docs/nutritionals/printable/US_NOW.pdf

It's basically a soy-based protein powder with some vitamins.  All the fancy words in the world can't make this work any better than ordinary vitamins, a balanced diet and moderate exercise.

Non-GMO Soy Blend, Calcium Carbonate, Brewers Yeast, Fructose, Dicalcium
Phosphate, Ascorbic Acid, Dimagnesium Phosphate, Soy Lecithin, Inulin, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Potassium Chloride, Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate, Acesulfame Potassium, Niacinamide, Calcium
Pantothenate, Optizinc® Brand of Zinc Monomethionine, Ferrous Fumarate, Pycnogenol®, Riboflavin, Pyriodoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamin Hydrochloride, Copper Gluconate, Manganese Sulfate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Folic Acid, Biotin, Potassium Iodide, Molybdenum Yeast, Selenomethionine, Chromemate® Brand of Niacin Bound Chromium Polynicotinate, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D3.

Their "proprietary herb blend", all 185 milligrams of it, has herbs, but none of them in quantities sufficient to do much for you.
L-Methionine  (not an harb!)
Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum)
Rutin (Ruta graveolens)
Licorice Root (Glycyrrhiza glabra)
Rhubarb Root (Rheum officinale)
Cayenne (Capsicum annuum)
Rose Hips (Rosa canina)
Butternut Bark (Juglans cinera)
Irish Moss (Chondrus crispus)
Garlic (Allium sativum)
Bromelain (from pineapple stem-Ananas comosus)
Papain (Carica papaya)
n•zimes® and Isolase (also not herbs!)

Homer, if you want a soy based protein powder, I am sure there are many on the mass market that are just as good or better than reliv.  My favorite place to order supplements from is http://www.dpsnutrition.net  I'm not affiliated and they are not MLM.  They just have good prices on things I like to buy.

Homer, my DH and I were actually taking the Reliv products for about a year ... so, we gave it PLENTY of time ... initially, we noticed some "good" changes in the way we felt, our energy level increased, our joints weren't as stiff (we're in our fifties ... we have stiff joints!) ... but, seriously, after about 6 months nothing much happened!  My DH has some serious health issues that should have seen "improvement" from taking the product ... according to them!  It was just too much money to spend when we could probably have gotten the same results from a good multivitamin from Wal-Mart or Osco!  And their distributor plan ... AAAAAHHHHHHHH, RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY!!  Forget 'em ... it's not worth it!!
