Anyone know anything about Avon's Mark? Is it anything like MK? If I were to sign up what is to be expected? Anything anyone can tell me is helpful!

My friend does Avon. She says Mark is just a younger line of products, mainly aimed at teens and early 20's. I think the guidelines are the same for Avon- every 2 weeks a new catalog comes out and possibly the same amount of commissions.
I will see her tomorrow at my son's preschool, and I can ask her for more info for you. I will post tomorrow afternoon or tomorrow night. I usually get online pretty late, but I will try for earlier.
Oh and just a thought... is the person you are buying the product from a friend? If so, ask her what would be better for her, for you to be a recruit or a customer. Basically which way would she make more money off of you? Mostly likely, she will make more money with you being a customer, becuz I know their commission percentages are pretty low.

Hi PinkBabyPoo,
Mark is indeed a lot like Avon; You order new catalogs every 4 weeks. Mark reps earn 40% commission on beauty products and 25% on non-beauty products. I don't know the commission structure for recruiting, but I don't think it's all that much.

Mark is Avon. The regular catalogs now have a portion for Mark. Its a line geared toward twenty somethings. Lots of glitter, gold and silver.

I knew that Mark was a part of Avon, but I wish I could just find out more about it without having to contact a Sales Rep and them hounding me about it. But after MK I am sure that if it's anything like it I wouldn't want to go thru that again if you have to do some of the same things (i.e classes, stalking, parties, etc.).

Everybody I know does it like Avon.
"Here's your flyer. Call me if you want something."
I don't know if you can actually just sign up to sell mark--the only people I've ever bought it from sold Avon and gave me the mark catalog, too.
Haven't bought anything for a long time, though. I usually just got stuff during softball season from one of the moms who sold it.

Thats just it I don't think its a seperate entity that you sign up for. I get the Mark catalogs with my regular catalog. I only buy for myself and a few family members. I give stuff to them for my cost so Avon is a big money drain for me. I don't even order catalogs so I get one and pass it around. Mark is too trendy for me.

Mark reps are basically AVON reps The commissions are the same. It costs 7.50 a campaign to maintain a website and you need to order books every campaign even if you don't order any product, to remain an active representative. You can miss ordering books one campaign but if you miss two you are considered inactive. They don't push you to recruit or badger you about attending training meetings. I know all the training sessions are free and they are usually held once a month unless your director has a special party planned.

I have been looking into joining mark as well even though being in MK scared me and was such trouble. I never used much MK, but I use so many mark products that it would be worth it for me. I looked on their website and it is separate from Avon, you choose to do both if you want. I would love to hear more about their campaigns. Are you required to buy to be considered active?

I had a friend who sold Avon and mark both, and she quit because of something about them taking a percentage of her pay - either her customers had to pay Avon directly or she had to send all the $$ in (probably the 1st). They'd take a larger percentage if she didn't have enough sales. This was a few years ago but you may want to ask some detailed questions about that before joining. She also complained about the cost of the catalogs and the frequency that they came out w/ new ones (every 2-3 weeks, if I remember right). She quit Avon/mark and began Partylite candles, so I may be confusing the 1st complaint I thought she had about Avon w/ that, but it's worth inquiring about before signing up.

You can sell mark without being an Avon rep. You can even sell mark under age 18--they will recruit 16 year olds with written parental permission. Jordin Sparks was the first exclusive mark representative, and she was a minor at the time. I thought the commission was better than traditional Avon's system; Avon takes the full price for orders under $25 and only leaves 20% for reps up for orders under $150. Any orders of clothes, shoes, and some jewelry would only earn a rep 20% or purchase, regardless of other earnings. A mark rep, as posted below, will always make 40% from regular items and 25% from apparel and jewelry. Mark seems to be more rep-friendly than Avon, but there are some catches. Of course, there is the emphasis on "team building" and parties that almost every other MLM deals with. Another is that even though Avon and Mark are part of the same company, a mark rep will not make a profit from a customer who buys an Avon product from her. Three quarters of mark's customers are Avon reps themselves. Sound familiar? Angellove, if you're still interested in mark, talk to me before you sign up. PM or post--I want you to know the ins and outs that I had to figure out on my own.
