Ya know, after I typed this.........I started getting having a "special" day.......my upper lip started itching along with under my right eye.....ugh!

So, I immediately ran to the mirror to see if it was turning red......NOPE....just itchy and not oxidizing properly!  I remembered I forgot to use the "moisturizer" bottle that they recommend you use (i just used my last night's face)..........so therefore, I am going to take your advice and wash my face, use the moisturizer and hope for the best smiley

I never heard that about not washing your face before minerals. I shower in the morning so that wouldn't fly.  giggle I found that it works best if I use a little bit of light moisturizer and let it soak in well. My face looks dry if I skip the moistuizer, maybe because I use soap in the morning. If you use just water, you might be OK.

Hey Sickie! You know, I've never heard of that either. I, personally, wash my face every morning, use a light moisturizer and after that absorbs I use my SPF moisturizer, which is heavier. Then I use an eye cream. I put my minerals on a few minutes after that, and I've never had a problem. I couldn't apply makeup to a dry face. I'd look flaky and gross, as I have super dry skin.

I'd like to hear more about this. Did they say anything else in particular?

I do agree, though, to at least wipe your face with a damp cloth in the morning just to clean off any dead skin cells, any oils your hair left on your pillow that your face picked up, etc. It'll just give you a fresher surface to start with.

Well, hopefully I can explain this.  The theory behind it is that you do not wash your face because the product goes on better.  Using a moisturizer makes the product "stick".  However, I'm thinking this could be for people with oily face!

And I think you're right.  Because altho I love my minnerals, I do feel it is a little drier (of course EVERYthing is drier than MK's oily crap foundation).  I will try it with the "washing your face" method first and let you know how I come out.

Thx Lynn smiley

Oh, I think I get it. Please clarify if I've missed the point.

The thought is using a moisturizer makes the minerals "stick" and "drag" on the skin. This leaves you with a streaky mess. I agree. However, if you let your moisturizer absorb fully you should be fine. I put mine on and then lotion up and get dressed and then apply my makeup. Seems to work ok for me. And I use a mineral oil based moisturizer b/c of my very dry skin.

If you don't want to use a moisturizer because you're unhappy with the makeup application, that's fine too.

But, to answer the question, moisturizer can affect the application of minerals.

I hope this helps.
