Well, I must chime in.  My anniversary was sept. 17.  FIVE years and i took him to a nice bed and breakfast for the weekend and it was soooooooooooo nice. That weekend in Sept. was warm so we walked along the beach and just focused on us.  I recommend every lady to do something like this for there husband.  My husband was so surprised and he enjoyed it.  Truthfully we both enjoyed it cocktail

It's amazing that I actually had money to do something special, because I wasn't using all my money to place orders dance

Wow, all of you are great examples that marriage can work! My DH and I celebrated our 3 month anniversary on the 1st - yep, we're newlyweds and I love being a married woman...or maybe I just love being married to my DH! Everyday I get to wake up next to my best friend! Okay, that's enough mush for today!   I don't want any of you to lose your lunch.  Sick

Our 21st anniversary is coming up on Oct 26.  I can't believe it has been that long.

Advise to the newlywed:  Some of the years were tough, but just stick with it.  Once you get thru the growing pains, marriage is even better.

I always refused to go to retreat because it was always the same weekend as my anniversary!

You guys, FALL RETREAT WAS THE BIGGEST WASTE OF MY TIME!!!!  mad3 Last year I didn't even go, and I was a director.  Wow, this is bringing back such memories...

Anyway, so we had such a wonderful time last weekend, romantic dinner, champagne, CONVERSATION, beautiful walk in the gardens with a river running through and the leaves changing...

Ahhhh. Okay, back to regular scheduled programming, homework, housework, work, kids kids kids!   rofl

Ditto Iris! Though I am ONLY 4 years in, I hear all of these newly weds and think "phew!" ! Especially since of the 4 years we have been married, DH has been overseas for 2 1/2 of them! Sometimes it is REALLY hard, but we worked THROUGH it, and we are in a much better place for it!

Are you  bleepmein kidding me?!? Marital duty homework? That is disgusting! How can they trivialize and marykayize that?  I feel ill.. Sick
At retreat some directors *on stage* were cracking really gross sex jokes (which if we had had margaritas and weren't supposed to be all professional would have been fine).  What made it nasty was that there were some older women there, clearly uncomfortable, that remembered the old mk way (you know, ladylike and all that).  I felt like taking a shower...There are times and places, times and places  Kaybot s

I have heard the whole take care of him thing too, usually after or before an event that would take me away from home for a while.
highfive to everyone that has made it so far in their marriages it seems so rare these days.  I will be married 11 years in Dec. and it hasn't always been easy(I got married the same year I graduated high school.)  I am so glad that I have a wonderful husband!
My advice to newly wed..... spend time together before the kids it really helps!  We were married almost 5 years before our first child.(even tho every one thought that I was preganant when we got married, because I was young!)

You all are some wonderful women- no matter what those  Kaybot say!

That's incredible nopinkhugs, 11 years!!!  and for a marriage these days, especially one right out of highschool, that's saying something--I, too, was married right out of high school.....lasted 3 years.......and 2 children........the divorce was bitter and nasty and of course i thought he was the devil, but looking back now I guess we both had our faults, LOL..........I've since remarried (was 2 years last month) with another little one-----3 boys total-------and life couldn't be more blissful!!!!!!!!

You know it is sad when my 6 year old says to my 3 yr old, if momma and daddy get a divorce we will live in different houses! mad2  What in the world?  He is in first grade!  Why is this becoming ok for people?  I don't always like my hubby, but dangit I do love him!  And I am going to do what I feel God wants me too!   Stay married !  Tough it out through the hard times! I am not saying that there is no sin that will ever cause me to leave but I know what the bible says I have to deal with!  Not that he ever does anything wrong  giggle  I am not judging not my style, its just my  twocents
Please don't take it as a personal attack on anyone.  Lord knows I am not perfect, just a wicked sinner!  witch
