:doh Here's exactly the kind of 'Quota' practice that the FTC is looking for!
The new hostess gift can only be purchased with a $200 wholesale order.
Since I chose to do a $200 wholesale order in May and work off 'discount'
for June & July I can not order a hostess gift. Anyone else who experiences this
should complain to the FTC. I know I am going to do so. Direct Selling companies
are not allowed to impose unfair quotas (or maybe it's any kind of quotas) on it's
consultants per the FTC. They are looking for companies who are doing this.

The robes are nice.  I'm not upset at the company for limiting quantities ordered.  For the last year, the more popular Hostess Gift items, as well as some limited edition items have been selling out before the majority of consultants without early ordering privileges could even get an order form in their hands.

But limiting quantities and tying it to wholesale ordering are two different things.  IF the Company is trying to turn the focus back on sales, and the appropriate utilization of Section 2 items (incentives to boost/encourage sales, and no more than 5% of your retail order amount), then it makes sense that you shouldn't be ordering 10 or more robes (or any other Hostess Item) if you didn't already have $400 in retail sold, or appointments booked to support $400 retail sales in the next few weeks.  Actually, at $10 per robe/gift, you should order no more than 2 before you start eating into your profit base.

From what I understand, it's mainly Directors who are buying up these Section 2 items in HUGE quantities and doing God knows what with them.  Hopefully this policy will limit the majority of that and give new consultants and those without early order privilege the opportunity to get these Hostess Gifts before they sell-out.

The jury is still out for me on this one.  Ultimately, I appreciate them imposing limits to try and make it more equitable for everyone.  I'm placing an order for the new items this weekend and ordering 10 robes.  Given my current level of activity, using the robes as true Hostess Gifts, 10 robes should/will be plenty for me.  Will see how this pans out.

***Consultant MUST order $35 wholesale per each gift that she is reporting, by June 15.***

Can't find a pic, but it's a large white robe, no MK logo or lettering on the outside of it.  The inside neck-tab does say Mary Kay on it.  It has a belt, no buttons or zipper.  It is plush-soft, thick but lightweight.  Comes folded wrapped with an inch-wide pink ribbon.

I think it's very nice, one of the nicer hostess gifts we've had.

I agree that it is a very nice gift.  It is super soft and well presented with the pink ribbon, but MKC knows how popular these will be and should be ordering appropriately.  If there is an opportunity for us to increase sales and bookings with these, then we should be able to order them.  I will get extras to add to Christmas baskets, it would make a great final gift for the 12 days of Christmas.

I have a pic from Applause, but can't make it copy/paste here.

Sorry I'm a real newbie, if someone will explain to me what to do, I'll post the pic.

Thanks for the enlightenment, everyone

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter now. There are no more robes for sale. They are only replacing the stained robes for consultants who wound up with one, and won't be ordering any more. So, if you didn't get one before, you needn't worry about getting one now. Just more of the same-o, same-o :yack: You'd think a company this big would have at least one person who can foresee that people will order  lots of these, and plan on having enough in stock to get through more than the first week of the quarter. But, alas, it seems they all are issued  :roseglass: when they walk through the front door...

They know that they are going to fly off the shelves.  They do it on purpose to get people to order more.  If they aren't ordering section 1, lets give them a great hostess gift, then they will put in an order because it doesn't make sense to pay shipping for one item.  When that didn't work, they let everyone know that it was so limited that you could only get 10 with a $200 order and they will still run out.  IMHO they wanted to cause an ordering frenzy at the end of the year.  Think that it worked?  :pcwhack
