Here's how to post your event to the calendar

1. At the top of the forum is a menu bar with links to Home, Help, Search, etc. Click on the "Calendar" link there. You can also access the calendar by clicking on this image  next to the list of upcoming events on the bottom of the forum.

2. Now you should see the Calendar for the current month on your screen. If you want to post an event that is for any month other than the current month, scroll to the bottom of the Calendar. On the left side is a link to take you to the previous month and on the right side is a link to go to the next month. In the middle of the bottom of the Calendar is a pull down menu where you can select a different month and year and then click "View" to be taken to that month.

The number of each date on the Calendar is a clickable link. When you click on that number, you will be taken to a screen where you can enter the information about your event.

3. After you click on a date, you are taken to a new screen where you can enter your information.

First, type the name of your event next to the "Event Title."  You will see that below the event title, you can still change the date if by chance you want to post it under a different date than what you clicked on to get to this screen.

Important Feature: If you simply want to post your event on the Calendar so that it shows in the upcoming events on the bottom of the forum as the date approaches and also shows when users view the Calendar, then UNCHECK the box marked "Link Event to Post." This way, your event posting WILL NOT create a new topic on the board.

However, if you DO want to also create a post for this event under the "Calendar Events" section of the board, leave this box checked. NOTE: You also have the option of choosing a different board for your corresponding post which might be something you would want to do if it related to the subject of a board.

If you DO choose to create a post for your event, when you click on the "Post" button, you will then see the expanded data entry box that you see when you create any post on the forum and you can create whatever you want to show up in the forum post there.

Once you are done, clicking "Post" will create both the event on the Calendar as well as a post for that event on the board you chose to have it show.
