Wow, I was so impressed by what I learned watching this movie. I have read/heard about the global warming issue for years, but didn't truly realize what a crisis it had become. I also didn't realize how involved Al Gore was with the issue. As soon as the credits were done rolling, I logged onto the website listed at the end of the movie, www.climatecrisis.net, to see what my carbon impact was. I was so happy to learn my impact was less than the national average. Yeah! My DH was above the national average because he drives a Dodge Ram, even though he drives half the miles I do every year! Strangely enough, the day after I watched this movie this is the article I read on CNN.com: http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/science/12/29/canada.arctic.ap/index.htmlAnyway....for those who have seen this movie, what did you think??

I thought it was retarted that he was sitting in his plane, which burns tons of fuel, looking out of the window, to tell me what I was doing to hurt the environment. Puh-leaze.....go stand in a wheat field or something.....*rolling eyes*

I mentioned that at one point to my DH - but I guess his carbon impact is okay since he's "spreading the word".

I mentioned that at one point to my DH - but I guess his carbon impact is okay since he's "spreading the word". Yeah, I just thought it was a crappy example. And if that is the whole point, then your example means more than your CD (which is not biodegradable) or the plastic case it came in (also not good for the environment) or the emissions from the SUV you ride around in while you spread the "good news"! Whatever. I drive a big truck. I like my big truck. I will listen to people who walk or ride bikes before I will listen to people who take private planes and SUV's! Thats just me.... (Nothing against you!!!! Just not a big fan of hypocrites)

BIG TRUCKS ROCK!! Especially after my dh & ds auto accident...you won't EVER catch me in anything smaller than a station wagon!! Environment or not. I'll give up just about anything else, but I won't skimp on the thing that we are in the most and is protecting my family from drunk drivers and other idiots on the road.
Sorry, Velocity! Way off subject!!

I'm not sure what I believe about global warming. We have only been charting the weather for a couple hundred years so we don't really know what Earths cycles are. We take ice samples from the Arctic but I really believe that we are in a warming trend and the pendulum will swing the other way.I do believe we need to reduce what we take and use from the environment.

I believe that the global warming issue is a load of crap. kind of like the earth is billions of years old - hey people - ever read the BIBLE?! it's well below zero here today - where's that global warming? somehow i think we should be more concerned with the feely schmeely crap our kids are learning in school than global warming. every time there is some weather catastrophe it's all about "biblical proportions" , haven't seen an ark lately - they need to get off the pot about something important once

Al Gore did not invent the internet. He never said he did. www.snopes.com/internet.aspIt does seem as if this is a very 'inconvenient' truth for many. I guess we could all go back to referring the Farmer's Almanac for weather and climate information, but since we do have more advanced technology for this research, maybe we could use that. www.epa.gov/climatechange/basicinfo.htmlJust my .
