Back to it! Determination!

Hello everyone. O.K. who's watching Masterpiece Theatres Jane Eyre the next couple of weeks? I am enjoying it even though they have left out some important stuff!!!!! I don't totally agree when people say that Jane was the original womens libber, I feel that she believed that she would never find love and went out one her own, not that she WANTED to be on her own. Anyway so I think the movie missed the mark on not showing the relationship between Jane and Helen (little girl at the school who dies) and Bessy Miller (teacher at the school), those were the first people that she had a loving relationship with. They have really hit the head on the nail though with the feelings that Edward Rochester makes her feel, and her him! If you haven't read the book. READ it!  bighug

I watched it.  I'm enjoying it thus far.  It's been so very long since I've read the book though.   I kinda of felt something was left out but wasn't able to jog my memory.  I do miss the period language in this version.

Hi Lori! You read that at 8 years old? Oh my! The first part was on this last Sunday and the second part is on this next Sunday on Public Broadcasting stations. I bet they will re-run the first part on Saturday! I think I will re-read the book. I loved it too!  Love

Yup, I was just so in love with how strong she was. That no matter how often she was let down she just carried on. I liked the movie with Orsen Wells.

Hey Lori,
I think I was about that age when my bestest friend and  read it. ALSO at that time on TV they were occasionally  showing the old old B& W movie. Orson Welles was Mr Rochester.. and Helen .. with the beautiful curls .. was played by a very very very young ELIZABETH TAYLOR.
