Beauty fades...dumb is forever

« on: December 29, 2006, 10:49:04 AM »

I saw this movie last weekend. What a movie. Will Smith is one of the worlds greatest actors. I really hope he gets that Golden Globe and at least an Oscar nom. I just love that man! Go see this. It will make our small hills alot less mountain-like and the real mountains easier to scale knowin g what Chris Gardner did for his son.

Lori, i'm so glad you brought this movie up! I love love love love it!!!!! Definitely must add it to your dvd collection! Will Smith had me so drawn into his character, the pain, the frustration of never catching a break, and the determination to be in his son's life.  crying BOYYY has he come a loooong way from Fresh Prince of Bel Air and story tellin' rappin' days. I'm so proud of him! And his son?? I think he's a born natural.  clap clap clap

I give 5 of these guys  :party :party :party :party :party up (instead of thumbs  giggle) to the movie!!

I sure hope it hits th $1 theater soon!  We see all the movies there!  Too cheap to go to the regular theater.  I agree...I love Will Smith too! He is amazing...and cute too!!  (Except with hair..not liking that!)

Mr. Gardner is an amazing man. Saw him last week on evening news--I think they made him person of the week. Wow. What character. He was on Oprah a few weeks ago too with Will Smith.

I had heard & read about the story of Mr. Gardner sometime ago.  I saw the movies and absolutely loved it.

I am going to buy the book as one of my "must haves" for my library.

A bit OT (but still pertaining to the movie):  I was on some MK board (don't remember which one) and someone mentioned that this movie was very MK-ish and was a must see (I'll have to remember which board and make a note to visit it no longer.  I just hope that the  Kaybot don't take them movie and try to make it MK required viewing.   I would be so mad3
