I really want to go see it especially since DH is almost done with med school and will be amidst this horrible health care system America has. It's very sad. I'm anxious to hear more reviews though...

I don't even pretend to know what the solutions are to health care, but I suspect getting the insurance industry out of the care-decision making process is a start. My sister is in the military. She tells me, if you want to know what socialized medicine is like, ask them. It's horrible!
I was visiting her once in DC area. Her daughter had been throwing up for 2 days (it was saturday). I looked in her throat and she CLEARLY had strep. She called her medical facility, and they said she had to wait until monday. What about the ER? No, they won't approve the visit unless life or limb were in immediate danger. I convinced her to go to a walk-in facility elsewhere. Can you imagine making a 6 year old wait for 48 more hours with a strep infection?
Of course my opinion here is purely anecdotal and based only on what my friends tell me.

That doesn't sound like "social health care" to me...sounds terrible actually.....our health care in Canada isn't perfect either I've been waiting for almost 2 years to have ankle surgery...which hopefully will happen this fall....but we would never A) have to call anyone to approve a health care visit...or B) wait (in an urgent situation)...we would just go to the nearest ER if our doctor wasn't available and the issue would be taken care of. I'm so sorry your niece had to go through that! According to the movie France has the best health care in the world!

No I can't stand the pig. He capitalizes on tragedies, ie, Columbine, 9-11, I am sure he is working on one for the VA Tech incident.

Yes. After Columbine, he basically said that he could take any two unrelated events and convince you they were connected. Then F451 came out, and everyone was all over it. The guy basically said he can lie real well, and people ate it up. I don't like him either, for a variety of reasons.

My current doctor was a doctor in Nova Scotia, Canada before moving to the United States years ago. He told me that socialized medicine is not always as people think. He said that it can (not always) take months to get a MRI or similar thing... people could die in that time. Not saying socialized medicine is bad or good, just not sure if there is a perfect solution.

Can't stand Michael Moore... don't even want to look at him. UGH!!! The guy makes me want to gag. As far as America's health care... I don't know what the answer is either, but I do think that certain Americans have screwed it up for ALL of us by being 'sue happy'... this is one reason our insurance companies have gone so nuts on us! Our family has personally gone through some pretty messy times with health insurances... it is a giant pain and NO ONE watches out for the little guy (that would be us)... we are on our own... we do all our leg work and still get chewed on by either the medical facility or the insurance company!

I agree our medical system is screwed up. The courts have been a major factor in the cost of care with the ridiculous awards given in lawsuits. There are some cases that may have deserved large penalties, ie those that result in the need for life time care, but do all cases justify the plantiff to live big the rest of their lives? OK, I will get down off my before I get further into
