Have a favorite group or artist? Share it. I'm always interested in good music. I find so little these days. Have to admit I'm more of a 60s, 70s & 80s music chick.

In my car, it's books on tape. But it's hard to find enough variety at the library. I rarely buy one. Tried Audible and didn't like it.

Anywho, who do you like?

And no Paris Hilton or Brittany Spears allowed!

Right now I have a mixed CD made by my sisters.  We had a Sisters Weekend and each person had to email their favorite song to her and she surprised us with the CD.  Has everything from U2 to Natalie Merchant to Madonna on it.

I'm a classical music girl.  cool  I grew up playing the violin so it has stuck with me and now my kids listen to it... sometimes.

I'm a Mozart fan but I downloaded a cd of "Soft Piano Music" and now I can't get enough of Rachmaninoff!  Needless to say, I'm a very relaxed person.  tongue

Hooray Shabby! Even though your haze has been gone for a long time, still gotta make you earn the title!  wink

I have pretty eclectic music tastes and I also don't use a CD player! I live by my mp3 player (and it's NOT an iPod, hate those things).

Right now I go back and forth between the new Breaking Benjamin and my entire Rascal Flatts playlist (I have everything they've ever released). I also love Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Sara Evans, LeeAnn Womack, Mark Wills and classic country like Reba and Randy Travis. On the other side of the spectrum, I can always fall back on Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5, 3 Doors Down or Nickelback. I also like some jazz-folk flavor of Jamie Cullum, Michael Bublé and Jack Johnson. Then there are times I just need some 80's music and I hit up my Monster Ballads collection.

Ah, I have over 3,000 songs to choose from, and sometimes it's just too much!

Oh and John Mayer and Jason Mraz are two of the greatest musicians of my generation!

Hip hip HOORAY!!!! Jumping

I'm glad there's a fellow string player out there!!!  I'm a cellist, so I guess I do listen to alot of what I play too.

But I love to listen to great jazz, Bela Fleck and the Fleckstones (sp?) and Tuck and Patti.

And now for something totally different...

I'm a Stevie Ray Vaughn fan.  Just downloaded some of the Crossroads stuff and I'm looking for his Live at Austin City Limits concert.

I also have a great appreciation for "light Jazz" instrumental music; thank you satellite t.v. music channels.

Absolutely love SRV (you got some karma love for that one Shabby)! His music is amazing and there are very few people who have ever been able to make the guitar sound so good. I have three CD's worth of music from Stevie and I love it. It's cool too because my mom and grandma listen to it too, so we can agree on something when we're in the car together!

Ahh, BvFP that's not right. I can burn a CD for you and mail it to you though. Just PM if you're interested. I can also send you lots of stuff they did before they released 'Songs About Jane.' I'm sort of a music nut and download a lot. . .  cool

I haven't heard anything from them (maroon 5) before SAJ. I really like their style. It makes me think edgier Harry Connick Jr., and I love the lead singer's voice. Very distinctive.

I'm also a big Alison Krauss (sp?) fan. I love Rascal Flatts, but didn't like their latest album as much.

If only we could have a virtual quartet - we could have a little concert for our friends here on uyc!  grouphug

I like jack johnson,  michael bublee, I love alison krauss, but I'm a little more of a rock girl I guess- love foo fighters, chili peppers, etc-
also, if you have't heard him yet, check out Mark Broussard (he's hard to pin in one genre, but he's bluesy/rock/pop)
also, there is a band I was just introduced to called oda belle (I'm not sure on spelling, there)

I also love 80s music- love to dance to it- and old jazz. I'm ecclectic when it comes to music, I can like anything from classical to punk to rock, and even bluegrass- but I'm not a fan of most country, and rap makes me pretty sick to my stomach- other than that, I'm pretty open minded-

JPE, I absolutely Love Marc Broussard. I've been playing a mixture of Momentary Setback and Carencro for the past few months and I can't stop listening. He's got a great voice and wonderful lyrics.

oooh, I'm so excited, nobody ever knows who I'm talking about! yes, you're right- great voice, and melodies, and a variety of sounds, fromhis bluesy side, to almost a disco-tone on one song--glad to find another fan. smiley

Joss Stone, GLove & Special Sauce, Pink Floyd, Bruce Hornsby, Stevie Wonder, Fergie, P-Funk, Cat Stevens, Bob Marley to name a few.

I also listen to npr in the car so my kids love classical. (Played violin, flute, french horn & xylophone) dance
