hmmmmmm, I just love music----pretty much any music--not a huge fan of country or rap, but will listen if the mood strikes me (or that's all that's available)

Right now in my CD player:

1) Nickelback--All the Right Reasons
2) Erykah Badu--Southern Girl
3) Metallica--Black
4) The Cure--Disentegration
5) Madonna--Confession on a dance Floor
6)  Jeremy Camp--(burned Cd, can't remember the title, but this is awesome Contemporary Christian--very new age, but still ver spiritual)
7)  Fleetwood Mac--Greatest hits
8)  Enya
9)  Concrete Blonde--Bloodletting
10)  The Big 80's Arena Rock  (bigtime 80's fan!!!)

Done, we should totally compare playlists because I have lots of those same CD's in my holder.

A karma to you for the 80's love! I am such a child of the 80's that I still play the music all the time - it's even classified as 80's Rock on my computer so that I can play only that if I want to!

And you too PbP, I love Nickleback and Metallica! And I always liked Third Day, but after seeing them in concert their music is even more meaningful to me now! They just write amazing lyrics and beautiful harmonies!

Thanks Mlle Wisen Timer,  I struggled as a teen when we were grouped by the music we listened to..........I like it all and never fit into one genre......I'm almost ashamed to tell anyone this but I also  Love techno, (I know) and use it as motivational music on days when I can't get moving or just need a pick me up!  And there's just something so youthful about 80's music.........probably couldn't name but handful of bands, but I always recognize the songs.......Ever heard of Lavay Smith???

I love Third Day...their "Offering" song is so beautiful! I also like Jars of Clay, Rebecca St. James, Kutless and Audio Adrenaline.

My (secular) favorites are Ben Harper (one of his songs was my wedding song), Jack Johnson, Feist, Cake, Beastie Boys, Beck, and old school groups like Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, The Platters, Earth Wind & Fire, etc. Right now, I have Damian Marley's "Welcome to Jamrock" in my cd player. This CD rocks!! I love to listen to it as I cruise around town.  afro

I can't forget ABBA (luv luv luv ABBA),

Me too!

"Take a chance-chance, take a chance-chance"

wink

I don't think there was ever a song which Abba did that I didn't like.  A friend of mine turned me onto Abba's Greatest Hits Gold (or something like that) and you can also get a VHS tape with them singing all those fun fun songs.  Great beat too huh UYC.

If you change your mind, Im the first in line
Honey Im still free
Take a chance on me
If you need me, let me know, gonna be around
If youve got no place to go, if youre feeling down
If youre all alone when the pretty birds have flown
Honey Im still free
Take a chance on me
Gonna do my very best and it aint no lie
If you put me to the test, if you let me try

Take a chance on me
(thats all I ask of you honey)
Take a chance on me

We can go dancing, we can go walking, as long as were together
Listen to some music, maybe just talking, get to know you better
cos you know Ive got
So much that I wanna do, when I dream Im alone with you
Its magic
You want me to leave it there, afraid of a love affair
But I think you know
That I cant let go

If you change your mind, Im the first in line
Honey Im still free
Take a chance on me
If you need me, let me know, gonna be around
If youve got no place to go, if youre feeling down
If youre all alone when the pretty birds have flown
Honey Im still free
Take a chance on me
Gonna do my very best and it aint no lie
If you put me to the test, if you let me try

Take a chance on me
(come on, give me a break will you? )
Take a chance on me

Oh you can take your time baby, Im in no hurry, know Im gonna get you
You dont wanna hurt me, baby dont worry, I aint gonna let you
Let me tell you now
My love is strong enough to last when things are rough
Its magic
You say that I waste my time but I cant get you off my mind
No I cant let go
cos I love you so

If you change your mind, Im the first in line
Honey Im still free
Take a chance on me
If you need me, let me know, gonna be around
If youve got no place to go, if youre feeling down
If youre all alone when the pretty birds have flown
Honey Im still free
Take a chance on me
Gonna do my very best, baby cant you see
Gotta put me to the test, take a chance on me
(take a chance, take a chance, take a chance on me)

Ba ba ba ba baa, ba ba ba ba baa
Honey Im still free
Take a chance on me
Gonna do my very best, baby cant you see
Gotta put me to the test, take a chance on me
(take a chance, take a chance, take a chance on me)

Ba ba ba ba baa, ba ba ba ba baa ba-ba
Honey Im still free
Take a chance on me

ok, so how many of you will now have that song in your head......  :-P      You can all thank me  lolol

My favorites have always been Van Halen, Cars, Journey, Styx, Reo Speedwagon and I can't forget ABBA (luv luv luv ABBA),

YGG,
I've seen 3 out of those 6 bands in concert!  Going to see Journey again next month for the 5th time!

The only time I get to listen to CDs is in the car.  When I get to pick (meaning the kids didn't beg for Raffi or Bob the Builder  smiley) I usually have Journey's Greatest Hits or Jimmy Buffett in there.  Funny thing is the kids (age 3 and 5) will often be the ones to request Journey when I just want to listen to the radio  giggle

I know what you mean JustMe.  I've seen VH 3 times, The Cars 2 times, Journey 3 times and Styx and Reo both once.  I'm a ParrotHead too, what fun!!!    dance   Margarita   'ville and love my Corona's too, so I fit right in with parrotheads.  We seriously need to have a big ole party sometime.  I'm thinking the gal from Rochester, NY area is on this board too, she plays guitar, so she better come too  :-)   We still need to have our bonfire  :-)

How cool that we have such a variety of tastes, yet so many are the same...   dance dance

I have seen so many of these bands in concert -- starting with KISS when they were still in makeup when I was in 6th grade...   yourock

My Mom still doesn't know about that one almost 30 years later!   giggle

Boy, we all sure seem to run the gammet on our taste of music...........I think diversity is great.......I've started noticing my children are developing their own tastes in music as well.  My ten year old (boy) is very much into Rap and Hip Hop, my 9 year old (boy) loves rock (especially classic), and my 5 year old (also a boy) loves anything that praises Jesus (I have my neighbor to thank for that  highfive )--one of his favorite songs is "Our God is an Awesome God".  He begs to listen to is every time we get in th car.  And being from Louisiana, we all love a little Jazz and gotta have Zydeco on a Saturday night!  Jitterbug, anyone?  dance

It must be something about that song " Our God is an Awesome God" my 6 yr. old son LOVEs it also!  He has a bunch of Christian cds that he wears out!  I'm a bad mom, we only let him have his stereo on the Christian station in his room, but we listen to everything else.  We do have some pretty vulgar radio shows in Atl. (make myself feel better  posterstpd)
