My Little Punkin Head

« on: January 09, 2007, 05:55:47 PM »

I am just wondering how many of us still talk to our recruiters. I was friends with mine pre-MK. I feel like we have an elephant on the phone when I call. But nothing at all nasty between us when I returned my stuff (though, I did offer to pay her the charge backs...not that I expect everyone to do that, but this was my good friend, and I didn't want to see her finically strapped b/c of me-but she refused to take it). Anyway, just wondering if other people had a peaceful seperation from MK like that.

My fervant hope is that my director and I will come through my MK departure with our friendship in tact. I am eager to hear others' experiences with this issue.

Well, I have been in 4 yrs and hear nothing from my recruiter.  We did communicate for a short period then nothing.  My director, well she only paid any attention for me if I was useful to her.

Before becoming a consultant my director/recruiter was my consultant.  We were not friends before and I approached her about the business.  Though I haven't sent my inventory back yet, (it's boxed and ready to go about $1500 wholesale) we have talked about me returning it after the company called her.  Guess I've been lucky that she has been supportive from the beginning and even now.  Of course she would like me to be able to continue to get my product at 50%.  But I have several of my recruits that have offered that price to me anyway, as it will help them meet the minimum $200.00 to stay active.  Between them, this site and e-bay I'm not worried about receiving a discount.   giggle

I would guess that after a while we probably won't have any reason to communicate.

I blame my director and recruiter for this mess I am in, so no even though I told her not to call me I will never talk to her again. I cant wait til she gets her charge back!!! I no right now I am in the mean stage but that's how I feel.

I didn't know my recruiter/director before MK, but she has always been very good to me.  When I told her I wouldn't be doing MK anymore, she was respectful of it and wished me luck with my new endeavors. Because of her great attitude, I continued to buy products from her and she always gave me a discount. I haven't purchased MK in a while, and I'm not sure if I will again, but at least I can walk away from my experience with MK still liking and respecting my former director.

My experience is almost identical to Larlabear's and Velocity's. She hasnt called me since mid November, but I have a feeling I wont' talk to her anymore. Since I'm not supporting her caddie, it's not worth it to call me. I do know for a fact though, that she wanted to call me, but her sr. director told her not to, since it wasnt worth her time.
Nice huh?

But I've been a good girl and have been uncruiting my sr. directors unit. =)

My recruiter was a "friend" for about 10 years before mary kay, yet I have only heard from her ONCE since I sent the crap back...

And that was only to ask me why...

My recruiter and I became friends after she recruited me.  When I made the decision to get out I called her and we got together for a face to face.  I explained some of my concerns and she agreed with a lot of them.

Really, one of the only things that kept me in was not wanting to have her suffer chargebacks when I returned my stuff.  To make myself feel better, I gave her an amount of Mary Kay equivalent to what the chargebacks should be.  The last time we spoke we exchanged the "let's stay in touch, I really value you as a friend" speech.  I meant it.  However, recently I called her to refer a former customer to her that was wanting to order.  I had to leave a message and its never been returned.  So sad.....either life is happening to her or she's been warned away from this negative nellie.  Just sad.

So I guess it was peaceful, but not the outcome I was hoping for.

I agree with TUP, my recruiter can just  :bite

I'm still good friends with my recruiter...we just don't really talk about the MK stuff very often - she's still really confused as to how I can think that MK is deceptive etc...so we just don't talk about that.  I thought it was going to put an immense strain on our friendship, but so far it is okay (I sent my stuff back 6 months ago).

That sounds like my director/recruiter/best friend. I told her I'm getting out "on principle" and she just doesn't get that cuz she still beelieves that MK is a "wonderful company." I would be perfectly content to have the situation you described where we stay friends but just don't talk about MK so much. Right now it is all so fresh for her that she is probably feeling some betrayal and maybe not quite ready to just let bygones be, well bygones.

My recruiter is my neighbour...I have to say we are closer now than before! She's very understanding is able to see through the pink fog..as a matter of fact she's got one foot out the door. Her large pride is keeping the other foot in!
Don't worry I've given her this web site! She's having a baby this year..that will get the last foot out!

My recruiter flew the coop after I signed up, she couldn't stand our Director, wanted me to come, but I believed what my Director was saying and refused to have anything to do with her (I wish it had been different)! I had invested sooooo much and was scared to start off by making waves! LOL. I haven't talked to her in about 3 years! I imagine she is out now anyway, she was way too smart for this business!!!!!
