faint Well since I have just purchase over 600 YES DOLLARS LOL of his product I thougt he was ignoring me with repeated attempts to reach him lo and behold( sorry I turned into my Grandmother a minute) guess who phones me direct from MEMPHIS TENN. this morning just before  he is going to church.
Leaves me this long sad message about he will do whatever it takes to fix the problem etc. Well the problem is, since I ordered all that stuff last month and was going through DIQ last month my eyeballs became opened. The problem I am having is wobbling back and forth. I did this and actually still do this with the Mormon church that I left like 12 years ago. I am so afraid. My family must think I am nuts. If I don't go into directorship do you think it is possible to make money? HELP loosing my mind in Canada although I am smiling nodding and ASKING QUESTIONS!!!

Leaane,

yes, you can make money in mk and not be a director.  I sold lots and lots and did pretty darn good!!!

I didn't quit because of not making money I quite because of my director. Money can be made if you get out there and sell the product.

Does that help?

Actually it does. I really love the product and actually was in the Court of sales(not buying LOL) But i am addicted to buying the extras like the David Cooper, Tammy Crayk Lisa Madson stuff. And stuff for team members, ie rewards and trust me I never gave a pencil or an eraser IMAGINE? I still am not over receiving a pencil as a REWARD!!! Give me a break my first recruit and I still laugh at my director!

I'm gonna have to disagree with PB&J on this one.

I sold a lot too. Most than 99.9% of the consultants in all the units that we met with each week.

But I still wasn't really making as much money as I should have been, given the time spent and the sales...and then you ALWAYS have to order more because it is IMPOSSIBLE to stock everything you need all the time.

Yes, a lot of my sales were full price. But just as many were discounted or $5.00 Fridays (I was $5.00 Friday queen!)

The company encourages you to do the big sets, like the rollup travel bag and that's great for the customer. But you're eating that discount yourself...NOT the company. You order full "wholesale" price from them, then they sell you on the latest travel bag set and how it's, say $400 retail, but you're supposed to sell it for $199...or some such arrangement (I'd have to go look at some of my old stuff for exact numbers, but we all know the deal)

Then meetings, events to keep you brainwashed, on and on.

When I went to Seminar, the Queen of Sales in our Area, according to my director, sold $114,000 retail for the year.

Okay...do the math. That's $57,000 wholesale that she ordered from the company.

Did she ALSO make $57,000 because "we make 50% of everything we sell?" Absolutely not.

For the time she spent and all her expenses, she would have been better off in the long run with a part-time job.

I don't think there IS a "right way" to do an MLM. That's the point. The reason MK tells you not to "reinvent the wheel" is because the "wheel" is the process for being in an MLM. Do this, say this, recruit this many...  They throw in lots of basic sales skills, but what you're selling is not really the cosmetics, is the non-existent business dream.

UYC, for me I guess I didn't do things like THEY said!

I didn't do the roll ups, I didnt do the discounted things, I stopped doing pcp, (it didn't work!)!! I stopped doing the gift with purchase also!!!! I didn't go to seminar, I did go to one Career Conf.

But, you are RIGHT with the fact the amount of time you spend.  I wasn't thinking about that.  And of course you are encouraged to buy this and that it all adds up!! I so agree with you!  I was just talking about selling the product and that was all.  If anyone could even do that.

I understand what you're saying PB&J.

Hey Leanne...why don't you call David Cooper and tell them that what he can do to fix the problem is to take back all of those tapes you bought and refund all of your money. Tell him that you realized that the only people making money with MK are people like him, selling their stuff to MK consultants, desperate to try anything to make the MLM thing work!

I know this is an old thread but since I'm new, I'll comment!

David Cooper became my new best friend.  I went to one of his training sessions shortly before seminar and then on Day 0 I took my team to meet him and hear his pitch.  The only problem with his pitch is that he pitched it to my chest.  I kid you not.  My team and I just stood there looking at one another and he was completely unaware of what we were doing.  Creepy indeed.

He's the Yoda of Mary Kay.
Creating Kaybots who may acquire some "skills", which only work on real people who haven't experienced them.
Can you say canned and insincere?
Uh-huh.
All his stuff deals with the "very best case".....if everyone says yes and everything holds.
Doesn't happen in the real world, folks.
Save your money.
If you HAVE to HAVE his stuff, buy it on EBay.
It goes way cheap on there.... wink
