MK failed... I jumped in head-first. I am an honest woman, I worked HARD. Truly, every time I talked to my director I got to hear that I wasn't "working the business" the way I needed to. I wasn't willing to do some things, and that was the final straw for me. After 1 1/2 years of hearing my director ask if I was willing to "do the work it takes", I decided that I wasn't willing to do the kind of work she was asking. I am not 100% skirts and pantyhose. AND, my passion isn't MK. It never has been. My passion is TEACHING! I love to teach.
SO, no... I didn't fail. I felt like I had for 3 months leading up to my decision to send back inventory. Even though I was having $750-$1000 weeks, I felt like I had failed because I wasn't willing to push my gals into activity. I wouldn't even hold recruiting talks anymore because something didn't feel right. I couldn't tell gals that they could do nothing and make money (like I was told). You could do 50 hours a week and MAKE NOTHING. Blah. Took me a while....
If anything, I am a HUGE SUCCESS for getting out. I have gals following behind me. I had a circle of influence because of my honesty and respect for others. I truly care about people, always have. MK didn't change that, which is why I wouldn't have made a good Director. LOL!

RE-READING THESE OLDER POSTS! Quoting Madeline, "The system also fails by encouraging recruiters to hide information from recruits until after they've started. " Yes, I totally agree! I never intended to OPEN A BUSINESS when I started MK! I didn't know anything about inventory until afterwards (typical I guess), then the "full store" pitch.

Well, since I don't consider MK a "BUSINESS" more of a MLM Franchise, I was not looking to start a BUSINESS - like all of those kaybot 's spout about business expenses, etc. How many people would recruit if your line was something to the effect, "Would you like to open a business, initial startup of around $ 1,000 - we'll give you all the rules you can and cannot do, we don't pay for anything, you have to come up with that $ from somewhere, you can only sell the inventory we sell you, you MUST buy inventory from us, you cannot sell inventory whereever or however you want, you cannot sell your "business" or advertise your "business" and oh, by the way, we can fire you whenever we want?" Did I cover everything? This is JUST the start up w/$ 600 inventory - not counting all the other meetings, pcp, section 2, etc. Whew, I need a

The other thing they get you with is"It's just $100 decision. What have you got to lose? $100 won't change your life, but MK could."
Like I needed a $100 cement block and inventory tied around my ankle when I jumped into the deep water!

I forgot about that lie! Yeah, I got the "you spend more than that at Walmart and don't even know what you bought when you get home". Now that they are doing the "rebate" if you get qualified by Sept, you know the script is gonna be that the starter kit is free!

If I knew then what I know now, I would have run when I got invited to the skin care class. I do have to take some responsibility for falling for all the pink promises; I fell for the whole script, hook, line an sinker...and I got deeper and deeper in the pink fog. It took me 8-1/2 years to find my way out...I was in deep! I was definitely a wearing those glasses and livng in the

After thinking for a long time that I could use an extra $50 to $100 per month, and had thought about signing up w/ Avon (but never looked into it), I called up my recruiter and signed my own darn self up! At the advice of my insurance agent, who was a MK customer of that recruiter. Never take financial advice from someone who has a profit to make off of you.

True tolerance is loving someone despite actually disagreeing with them. There is nothing to tolerate if you are not bothered. Honesty and transparency are virtues to be treasured - don't hide your beliefs in the name of tolerance, be honest about where you stand, just do it with love.
