I'm dealing with alot of emotions right now.  I feel sad and hurt, but at the same time looking forward to everything.  God always has a plan and babies are a blessing.  We still haven't told anyone else, just waiting to go to the doctor and check out that everything is fine.  I'll let you know.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  Wow, what a shock.  I don't know what I would do, personally.  I'm sooooo glad that your daughter was able to come to you with this news.  What a supportive family she has!!

what's done is done and now you have to pick up and move on to what's next. smiley The baby will come and your daughter mostly needs your love and support right now--of course. smiley She is most likely scared out of her mind and will likely have to deal w/ all sorts of emotions as this becomes a reality to her-which it probably hasn't yet. I've had some close friends deal with this, and it's not the end of the world---but it is a big deal, yes and it is a major change in everyone's life. I wish you the best and pray that you will find strength to be her biggest support---I also hope you have support for the emotions you'll deal with. My best to you all.

zaid, I can't help but to want to say CONGRATULATIONS!

I had my son when I was 16 years old and there was only 1 person who ever told me congratulations. It meant so much to me. I didn't mean to get pregnant but everyone around me made it sound like it was such a horrible thing. I still made it, I'm still here. I made a good life for myself and my son is now 12 years old. I look back and have a small amount of resentment towards the people that were the hardest on me.

For instance, my mom is 100% mexican and her dad is so strict, and when she told him that I was pregnant, all he could say was that "my life was over". And I knew then back when I was 16 what bullshit that was. How dare he say that? I showed him just like I knew I always would.

It's hard for people to talk bad about you because of the the thing you love the most; your kid.

This is just my story, I don't know how your daughter feels. But my advice is to not be sad and shocked and disappointed for too long because it's a waste of time -- you're gunna ADORE that baby when he or she is born. So try not to let tradition take up too much of your time. This is a blessing, you'll see.

Thank you all for your support.  Right now we are looking forward to the event.  I took her today to buy maternity clothes and I'm taking her to my GYN on Monday.  I'll let you all know how are things.

:yays: on the no  Sick!  Hopefully it will stay that way!

She may want to check to see if she is eligible for WIC program too (Women/Infants/Children) - if you have such a thing in your state (here I think it is done at local social services office but you could check with your dr or health department to see what programs are available).

She may not want to, but if she is eligible, she really should take advantage of the program.  She can get milk, beans, cheese, eggs, etc., for her and it will transfer to the baby when it is born and cover formula, cereal, juice, etc.   It really helps when the baby is born!

We are waiting for the appointment on Monday.  Because the doctor has to fill some forms.  She is okay with it, because is for her baby.  Her boyfriend is involved in everything and is taking care of her.

Zaid......sounds like everything is going well.  It is good that her boyfriend
is taking responsibility and getting involved.

And as we have all said, it is the great relationship that you and you daughter have that made her feel comfortable telling you early, so she and baby can get the care they need!  Love Love Love
