If I remember correctly, units become part of a Go-Give area when their NSD retires.

Yup, that's what it means. Your "area" doesn't have a NSD. I think most go-give units/areas are adopted by a NSD though. I know mine was. I was in Pearl Seminar, going to an adopted Director's meetings (she was from another seminar) and my actual Director was adopted by a Diamond NSD so our far-flung unit participated in her promotions. faint

In other words, you did not belong anywhere.

In other words, you did not belong anywhere. Exactly, although my SD could always find me at the end of the month.

So ... what happens to the commissions that would normally go to the NSD of these people?
My guess is that MK keeps them.

Anyone ever think of being in a Go-Give area as a blessing in disguise? I hear that the national that my unit once had was materialistic and just not very nice. I certainly didn't feel like I missed *that*!

You are correct LG -- MK gets to keep the consultant's. The theory behind that is MKC is in effect "buying" a national's area when she retires and pays her the retirement plan for the following 15 years (based on her average of the last 3 or 5 years or something like that). If you would like a copy of the "advance" brochure, I will e-mail it to you. Just e-mail me at sicknpink@hotmail.com OR PM me here with your addy and I will e-mail it to you. Might help you to understand the career path better, etc. GREAT article on PT yesterday LG!
