I'm thinking about doing it. But I haven't looked into it yet. I just wonder how different it is and if anyone here had any experience with that. Thanks!

Well I was thinking about selling a car. That sounds so complicated. I've already bought a car on eBay (for real!) and it was effortless, but only because the seller handled everything. I'm gunna have to get into that that whole tax, title and license business and that seems like a headache. So I'm wondering just how complicated it is. Like I said, I haven't looked into it. I think I'm dreading it, lol!!   :faint:

Goldflowerinc,

I would be concerned with the transfer issues because if it isn't transferred out of your name, then you would (in our state) be liable if the car was involved in an accident.  Did you have to travel to pick up the vehicle you purchased?  Did you go to the Courthouse to transfer the title?

If it is purchased out of state, the car would probably have to be transferred in the buyer's state, and that's what I would be worried about - not knowing if they actually completed the transfer.

What about selling on Craigs List or Kijiji?

My former neighbours sold their house on Kijiji!

Yea, we tranfered it. We had to to get insurance. We had to pick it up in Florida! I didn't go. My husband took a flight to Sarasota and drove the car back home. Oh, and I love it.

But you did raise a good issue. That's exactly why I dread even looking into it cause I know it'll be all kind of drama ~  :drama:

But I'd like to get it sold and I don't know of anybody around here. See, it's a nice new car but the engine is blown. But the body has got to be worth some money. I even looked to see if they sell cars with blown engines on eBay and they do.

If someone would buy the car and put a new engine in it, they'd be getting a good deal. But I don't want to because we already have two cars and that was my husbands car when I met him and I don't really like it. :-P

I don't know the other site Sassy referenced, but on craigs list you can search for, basically, local stuff.  If you sold it, in state, you could meet the buyer at your courthouse & everyone sign, pay, transfer at the same time!  I'd be sure to request a certified check or cash.

Kijiji (prounonced ka-gee-gee) is much like Craig's list....local classified ads! I love it!

We sold a couple of ceiling fans and a dishwasher! No charge to post your add! It's free!

I'm pretty sure it's in the US too under .com instead of .ca. Search out your city and your on your way!

Did I mention on Kijiji there's no bidding.....you just set your price (usually with some room for bartering) and off you go!

We never use e-bay anymore!

Guess the name is a bit silly.....but hard to forget!

I've always thought eBay was a silly name.
