There are many options you have for enhancing your listing. All except one (Picture Show) will increase the cost of your listing.

eBay categorizes the listing upgrades as follows:

*differentiate--enhancements that help your listing stand out from the rest

*promote--ways to increase the exposure of your listing

*enhance--features designed to make your listing more attractive

*sell--designed to make the selling experience easier for both buyer and seller

In my opinion and from my experience, only two of these upgrades are worth considering: Gallery and Buy-It-Now. Here's the why and details on each one.

Gallery
The Gallery listing upgrade adds a thumbnail photo of your item to the left of your item description. Without the Gallery option, buyers will only see a little green camera icon next to your listing, even if you have a photo in the listing itself.

Many buyers do a search for a product and then scan the results. And guess what? They're not scanning the descriptions. Most of the time they're looking at pictures to see what catches their eye. THEN they read the description or the listing. Eyes are drawn to pictures.

In addition, buyers have the option of sorting listings by "gallery view". This organizes all listings with gallery pictures, three listings per row, across the page. Suddenly, your listing is in a larger area, making it easier to read and scan the details.

But if you don't have a Gallery photo for your listing, in "gallery view" your listing ends up at the bottom of the list!

The Gallery option will cost you an additional $.35 per listing.

Buy It Now
The second listing upgrade worth considering is the Buy It Now option. For as little as $.05 per listing, the Buy It Now option lets buyers pay your specified flat price right now, rather than wait for the auction to end.

You'd be surprised how many people just want to get the item right now and not mess with tracking an auction or trying to be online at some inconvenient time trying to beat our other bidders.

As a seller, you can set your Buy It Now price competitively, based on past sales of similar items.

You probably won't want to use the Buy It Now feature frequently. Most of the time you want to just let the auction take its course. Experiment and see what works for your situation.

These two listing upgrades give you more bang for the buck than any of the others and have proven to be effective in increasing sales.
