I would actually get a separate appraisal....it doesn't have to be in writing, just for your knowledge. I have heard many who have gone to jewelers and been told their rings are worth next to nothing because of poor quality. Usually, when selling jewelry, you can expect to only get about half of the appraised value or less. Appraised value is usually used for insurance companies as a replacement cost. IMHO, if you are going the eBay route, you should really capitalize on the fact that it is an "official court of sales ring from the year xxxx" Some Kaybots will pay HUGE amounts to get the ring that they were going for that year and didn't make it.
