Selecting the right category for your Mary Kay items is important.

However, it's also important to note that most people who browse and buy on eBay do so by utilizing the search box there.

So while you do want to list your lipstick under "Health & Beauty/Makeup/Lipstick/Mary Kay/Pinks, Roses (choosing appropriate shade category of course), if you do happen to list it under "Dietary Supplements" or another inappropriate category, most people will still find it.

Here are the just a few examples of some commonly listed Mary Kay items and their appropriate categories:

Private Spa Wash & Lotion:
40073 --> Health & Beauty\Bath & Body\Body Wash, Shower Gel\Mary Kay
67405 --> Health & Beauty\Bath & Body\Body Lotion\Mary Kay\Private Spa Collection

Color Cosmetics
The appropriate categories for all the color cosmetic items can be found under
67616 --> Health & Beauty\Makeup\"type of item"\Mary Kay\"shade, where applicable"

Travel Roll Up Bags, Merchandising Bags, Etc.
72807 --> Health & Beauty\Makeup\Cases, Bags, Totes\Cosmetic Bags\Mary Kay

Lots
For mixed lots and multiples, this is the most commonly used category
40966 --> Health & Beauty\Wholesale Lots\Beauty & Personal Care\Makeup\Other

For samples & section 2 items
72855 --> Health & Beauty\Makeup\Travel, Trial Sizes

I hope some of this helps. Like all posts here I'll add to it as necessary.

Can I add something to the above?

When in doubt where to list something on ebay, open a new browser window and go to ebay.  Put your title key words in and search.  Look to the left of the page and see where other people have listed the same or similar item.

Yep...good tip, Ginger. I would do that frequently too. You will see the categories that item is listed under and the number of listings under that category in (   ).
