Want It Now is a feature that eBay added a while back. It allows eBay members to post requests for items they want to buy. Sellers who have these items can then respond with a link to their current listing.

As a buyer, you can eliminate having to search for what you want. You simply post on Want It Now and let the Sellers come to you.

If you're a Seller, you need to be using Want It Now to help boost your sales and the exposure to you listings.

How?

Simple.

If you have Mary Kay items, for example, go to the Want It Now page:

http://pages.ebay.com/wantitnow/

And in the box in the upper right of your screen is the search box for Want It Now. Type in "Mary Kay" , leave the option at the right of it set to "All Categories", then click on "Search Want It Now."

You will then be presented with a page that shows all of the postings that have been made to want it now by potential buyers looking for items with the keywords "Mary Kay."

Do you have a Dark Chocolate Lip Liner you'd like to sell? How about some Color 101 cards? Well, one the day I wrote this, there are buyers wanting to buy them from you. You can see when they first posted their request and how many responses they have received from other eBay sellers.

When you click on the title/link for any of the items in this list, you are taken to the page for their posting and you can read their entire request. Many buyers have specific requirements that they want fulfilled. You also can see the details on the responses they have received. The buyer's ID is never revealed in the request but you can see their feedback score.

To post a response to the buyer, simply click the "Respond" button at the top left of this page. You can then enter enter the item number of your eBay listing and all its details will be added to the response page for this request.

As a Seller, it's a good idea to check the Want It Now postings on a regular basis. Not only may you have the items, but sometimes buyers want particular sets of items. If you have them, you can put them together, get a picture and create the listing of the exact items they want.

Even better, you can set up your search of the eBay Want It Now postings as one of your Favorite Searches. On the main search results page, on the upper right side, is a link that says "Add to Favorite Searches."  You can set this up so eBay is the one who does the checking for you! You receive an email every time someone posts a request for "Mary Kay" (or whatever other search term you choose) and can receive notification for up to 12 months.

Want It Now is a great feature and you should use it to your advantage.

Thanks!  I already have two things I'm working on and saved it to my favorites!
