My big problem is trying to find shoes that are good for your feet but don't look cumbersome and aren't necessarily rubber soled. Something about me needs a shoe to "click". Walking in rubber soles isn't that fun for me.

If you know of some brands that you think are great let me know. I've seen some. I tried Easy Spirit shoes and they were O.K., but that darn rubber sole.

I've seen Clarks that look nice. Anyone know anything abou them?

I need some basic loafer type dress shoes. Don't need heels. (Tall chick)

Thanks!

I am on my feet a lot at work, bustling office type that I am. I absolutely LOVE my Hush Puppies. I get compliments on them all the time and they are so comfortable. I got them at JC Penney on sale, so they were only like $35 and I've had them for over a year and they still feel great! I also like them because I need wide shoes, and they are difficult to find without spending a fortune, and these come in wide widths. Here is the link to the pair I bought:

For loafers, I highly recommend Eastland.  I have a pair that I've had for twelve years and they are still going strong.  They do look well-loved, but in that (these are my favorite shoes and I wear them whenever possible) kind of way.  Sadly, they have rubber soles, but I haven't found better loafers or clogs anywhere.  (You can take the girl out of the 70's, but.....)

Here's a link to their online store.

Try The Walking Company--I think they are in malls nationwide.  They sell all kinds of euro shoes that are comfy.  I have a pair of Birkenstock loafers that are a few years old and they still make them.  They are pretty flat, and are not the granola looking Birks.  I got a pair of Mephistos recently and they are so comfy, too.  I am a shoe snob, (not in the Sex in the City way with the Jimmy Choos or Manolo what'shisface) but I do normally only buy what are known as euro comfort shoes--dansko, mephisto, some clarks and born, birkenstocks, merrell, etc.

I went through a period of a few years when my feet felt as though I was walking on shards of glass, so when I am not wearing flip flops (rainbows, reefs, and toegoes only--the $5 ones do not work!), I wear the euro shoes.  They are expensive, but worth it when you can walk across the floor in the morning without saying "ouch, ouch, ouch"! wink

I have fallen in love with Keen and my husband and son love Merrells.  I got them at this track & field store at the mall.  They are awesome.  I am not sure if they are all rubber soled but OMG they are so comfy and my feet never hurt after 8 hours out on the tarmac.

My son got the cutest Keen sandals this summer right before camp--red ones with yellow laces.  They are so cute and he is just on the cusp of needing adult shoes....so these were probably the last time I get to pay the kids' price on them.

I love my clark shoes.  I have these http://clarks.zappos.com/n/p/dp/16407382/c/216.html and I wear them to work a lot.  I think they look fine with a casual skirt of pants.
I also own these http://clarks.zappos.com/n/p/dp/16408161/c/3.html in black and brown.  I wear them with pants or jeans.
Most department stores have clarks for cheaper than the clark website or clark stores.

I need a pair of "normal" looking heels.  My feet look bad in the super pointy shoes that are popular.  I want about a 2 inch heel.  I think I'm looking for old lady shoes, you know a classic pump.   rofl  rofl

Ginger you are a woman after my own heart. I have the same Clark's and LOVE them.  As for your old lady, classic pumps, I had found several years ago a nice pair of Aerosoles pumps. They are really comfy and have a nice rubber sole that doesn't slip.

Hi,
Check this website out for shoes.  A bit pricey though.  Great shoes!  http://www.jildorshoes.com

Easy Spirit.  Great pumps, no rubber.
