Ok, you all know I'm a little "older" (43 to be exact) and I have 19 & 17 year old daughters.

The funny thing about this is that I dress a lot younger than I did 10 years ago because I have teenagers.  They are pretty conservative, but basically I dress in a slightly older version of the same clothes that they wear.  If I was skinnier, they could do the old "hand me ups" and I'd wear the stuff they don't like anymore!

Anyway, I wear flip flops a lot.  We all do (including my teenage sons), and we all have Rainbows, Reefs, along with lots of the $5.00 pairs from Old Navy.  My girls wear flip flop 11 months out of 12, I swear.  My oldest daughter doesn't own a pair of shoes that have both a front and a back.  I am not kidding, I can't remember the last time she wore a pair of real shoes (other than when she runs....and she doesn't ever wear running shoes unless she's running).

Number one priority is that shoes have to be comfortable.  I've never ever been able to stand to wear those Sex in the City type shoes.....but give me a bunch of flip flops and I'm set!

Do you wear flip flops?  Remember the big controversy when that national championship team wore flip flops to the White House?  While I thought they could've made better choices....that's generally very dressed up for college girls.  Most of them have never seen a pair of pantyhose, or a pair of shoes with both a front and back! (for the winter, my kids wear the Birkenstock Bostons)

I'm 38 and I don't wear flip flops. I hate the thingy between my toes. I wear slides similar to flip flops but without the thingy between my toes, but can only wear these for a short time. I have a bad knee, old hamstring injury, and work in a hospital (lot of walking and standing) so I am picky about shoes. LOL I want to still be able to walk when I retire. Most of my friends my age wear flip flops, however. I just can't. If I could maybe I would who knows?

Love flip flops. Wearing them right now. I like slides a lot too because I don't like the thingy between my toes all the time either.

I'm going to have to check out a pair of crocs. Everyone I know that has a pair loves them. They are really lightweight too.

I adore my flops...I've blown out 2 pairs this summer...I think that makes this summer one of the best ever - I honestly don't think that I wore anything but flip flops this summer....

Crocs are great. You can tell shoes are really comfortable if nurses wear them. Danskos are supposed to be really good too.

Well, hurt my toe a few weeks ago and I haven't been able to wear close toe shoes until a few days ago. One more reason to be glad I got out of MK.  tongue

My daughter has "skater" shoes - she just loves them and says they are really comfortable.  I'm thinking about getting a pair - wondering if I can get away with wearing them and not look like I'm trying to be 16 again.  hmmm

I love flip-flops too.  I swear that I dress just like I did when I was in high school, but like you, as slightly older more mom style.  No more mid-drifts as I have had 2 children but other thatn that I still shop at the same places, Old Navy, American Eagle, and A&F.  I have several pairs of FF from Old Navy, and several dressy pair.  Usually if I find a pair that I like, I buy 2 just because I know that I will wear them out.  I even had to buy my oldest son, who is only 4, two pair this summer because he wanted to be like mommy.

I'm with Julie- Can't do the thingy between my toes either!! (I seem to trip a lot more when I wear flip flops- or is it the  cocktail? Just Kidding!) Seriously, does anyone else have mobility issues when wearing flip flops or am I the lone weird one on this  crying ?!

I occassionally have mobility issues with flip flops, but I wear flip flops pretty much all the time living in the desert, so I don't expect much else.  Actually, now that I think about it I'm pretty clumsy overall...regardless of what's on my feet!   groan

The only problem I have is driving in flip flops--I have a 5 speed, so there are some pairs that I can wear when I'm driving and some....NOT!  It's pretty hilly and lots of traffic here, so I have to be careful.  Slipping on the clutch wouldn't be so hot!

And I'm still avoiding housecleaning.....hence my record number of posts today.

I never wore flip flops long enough to tell if I'd have mobility issues. There is a thingy between my toes. rolleyes Get it off my foot.  Cheesy I do have a pair of slides and I have noticed an increase in near misses when I wear those. A couple of times I have tripped and almost fallen up the stairs. They are my favorites too so I wear them a lot.

I jammed my big toe hiking and it's a little worse than I thought. All black and purple and taking a long time to heal. I think this is what football players call turf toe.  crying  No more cute shoes for me unti I don't know when.  crying

I'm so addicted to flip flops! They are so comfy and I can take them off super easily! I prefer to wear flip flops over tennis shoes when I'm on my feet all day...like to Disneyland etc. I also love flip flops because it gives me an excuse to get a pedicure every few weeks! smiley

I wear them sometimes in the summer.  I have teenage girls who wear them quite often.  Now that it's getting cold, they are wearing tennis shoes but most of the kids at their school are wearing flips (& shorts) all year long. smiley
