But we were  coool then, and now some of the newer aspects of fashion scare me (I've got waay too much butt to try pencil jeans- ever! I refer tot hem as dangerous curves, but I digress!!)

Okay, I'm showing my age (or lack thereof) with this statement, but I was born in the early 80's and I think we were all mostly followers of Punky Brewster! (You know, multi colored ensembles with long untucked shirts, layered socks in mismatched colors, leggings, skinny belts, bannana clips, ALL of it!!) One particular outfit that stands out; A lime green shirt over it's turquoise twin, Gitano jeans, Swatch watch, with lime and turquoise socks (one leg was lime sock on top w ith turquoise shoing; the other ankle was the reverse!! And we dressed this way when we were SOBER!!  faint It's really sad to go back and see myself in pictures wearing skorts in crazy prints and the WORST hair accessories on the planet (did any one else own that hair clip made from shoestrings in neon colors or the one made of deflated balloons? I kid you not- these were purchased at department stores in the mall!!) I'm also a fan of "I Love the 80's" on VH1 (Although I was a toddler for 1/4 of them!!)

Side Note: I have noticed the belted tunic is heavily "in" this year...

I was more the Madonna crowd in the early 80's. The pencil pants were really big then with the Punk Rockers like the Sexpistols and Blondie. Now I am showing my age! I am a child of the 70's.

Did anyone else wish they could make their room look  coool like hers?! My bedroom was antique pink roses and butterflies (and my favorite color is blue!)

I wonder if designers will bring back the bow and zipper at the ankle.  That was really popular, when I was in elementary school!!!!!!  I swear I just bough new jeans at The Limited and I had to scurry for the last two pair (that would fit me) in a boot cut.  Guess I better stock up on boot cut because I am only 5'1" and straight leg pants only make me look shorter.

Two words:

- Members Only -

And we -tight rolled- our jeans but that sounds the same as pegging or whatever you are calling it.

High top reeboks... slap bracelets... that should tell you how old I am!

Rock on, rock on.

I loved slap bracelets!  Jumping I thought they were so cool! I'd actually play with it more than I'd wear it sometimes!

Wasn't that the point?  tongue

AND why they were so dangerous?  They got over-used and then started deteriorating and wham! kids started getting cut.

I wonder if they'll ever bring back the jeans with the snap pockets on the leg. When you fold them back, they were some flourescent color on the other side.  giggle

I know ya'll remember the jeans with the holes in the knees.....and everywhere else!  giggle Oh, and in my neighborhood, those jeans were also used as yearbooks! Everyone had a spot to sign their name.  rolleyes

I'm waiting for Jams to come back. Or the big hair. I'm not picky.  giggle

I was a kid for the 80's, so I only did a little bit of the fashion. However, I am quite content to leave them in the past. The pictures speak for themselves.  smiley
