 Kaybot

Did you know that MK directors are crossing the legality line with telling you what to wear. According to Federal Tax laws, if you tell someone they are required to wear a certain kind of dress you ARE an employee.
My friend emailed her director about this and the director said she could go somewhere else for meetings if she wanted and did not answer the question. I would have told her where she should go. LOL duel

What a bleepme that  Kaybot was. I would have then picked the phone up and called the legal department and caused a big ruckus if for nothing else but to stir up trouble. LOL

Dress codes are just another way of controlling people.  Definitely not INDEPENDENT contractors who are their own boss.

I think they technically skip around the legality of this by "stongly suggesting" what you should wear. I don't think MKC itself uses language that says you MUST wear certain things, but this is certainly open to interpretation by SDs (as are all things MK). SDs also have little control tricks they use by not allowing you to get recognition at a meeting unless you are 'properly attired' (ie, skirt, stockings, closed toe shoes...), singling out people wearing pants to meetings, and just pushing the whole 'pants are not professional' thing down your throat. And who wouldn't WANT the honor of wearing a red jacket or a director suit once they had earned that??!! Bottom line, I think if anyone tried to take MKC to court over the dress code, they could say they only 'suggest' what professional attire looks like and if an 'independent sales director' had misinterpreted that, it's' not MKC's fault.
