I'm torn over this. I like the way some men (namely men in entertainment) look in a turtleneck, but I don't want to see my DH in one...not that he'd wear one. Is it just me? Are turtlenecks just a hit or miss on a man? ???

Hmmmm...
I associate men in turtlenecks with a certain English Lit professor I had in college. So I always think it looks kinda "poetic".
I think there is definitely a type of man that looks good in them. Others, no way.

Honestly, the only way I think a turtleneck looks good on a man is under a jacket of some kind, any kind - sport, suit, leather - you get my drift. I can't stand to see a naked turtleneck.

LOL - "naked turtleneck." That's hilarious - but I know exactly what you mean!

I agree. They look good under jackets. Alone, not so appealing. Don't know why that is. But then, I don't really think women look that great in just a turtleneck. It looks just bare to me...incomplete. Does that make sense?

You know, I was just thinking about all the male musicians who wear them...Hmmm there might be something to that! Honestly, the only way I think a turtleneck looks good on a man is under a jacket of some kind, any kind - sport, suit, leather - you get my drift. I can't stand to see a naked turtleneck. Given our recent experience with insdicreet PM's, we should be careful what we wish for (or don't!)

It makes complete sense to me. I agree - we're equal opportunity bare turtleneck dislikers.

Ew, glad I didn't see the PM pics - I check this site out at work during lunch, and our system stips a lot of bad stuff off. All I could see were blank white spaces where the pics must have been.
Turtlenecks or not....don't want to see anyone's "business" ya know?????

I hate turtlenecks for everyone, men, women, children, dogs, and especially turtles.

Remind me not to wear any of my turtlenecks around you, cause I love them! I only get to wear them like two months out of the year, so I try to take advantage.

I love how they call them "polo necks" on the BBC What Not to Wear.
When my girls were little, it was so easy to buy clothes for them. They had millions of cute little print turtlenecks and colored jeans or overalls, or little jumpers.
Those were the days!
I currently am sporting what looks somewhat like an extra chin, so I'm staying away from turtlenecks for awhile. According to WNTW, I should be looking at vnecks, and I have to admit, they do look much better.
But when it gets cold, that black cashmere tneck sweater is coming out, no matter how many chins I have!
