Do you cook Ham, Turkey or Other as your Main Dish for Christmas Dinner???

I normally do Ham for Christmas and then Turkey for New Years, but am curious as to what others do and also looking for some new ideas as well!

THANKS for sharing!

Ham for Christmas and Hors De oeuvre's for New Years, like stuffed mushrooms, Hot chicken wings, bacon wrapped water chestnuts etc.

My dad called me last night (Friday) and asked if the ham would be alright if he opened it and cut off some ham for ham and eggs (he was in the mood for ham and eggs) I told him that it would be like bacon and start to spoil, we'll see if he listened! Everything my whole life has been about him, so if we have a spoiled ham for Christmas because he couldn't stay out of it, we will!!!!!! UGH! Crap, I'd better stop or I'll keep ranting about how selfish he is!!!!!! LOL Merry Christmas!

Other.

Duck! See recipe in the recipe section (I think I got it moved there). I look forward to it all year.

WWIT...your Dad does sound a little selfish. He could have controlled his urge or gone out and bought himself a small ham for his Bfast. Sheesh!  (Don't get ME started on family ranting or I may never stop!)

Our family does prime rib for Christmas (God bless my 80 yr. old grandma!) and lasagna for New Year's.  Why lasagna, I have no idea, but it's darn tasty!

Turkey for Thanksgiving and Ham, preferrably Honey Baked, for Christmas.  Nothing special for New Year's, mainly because we are still suffering from all the holiday food.

If you started a new topic, I bet a lot of us would join in.  Especially after all the family get togethers in the next few days.  LOL

Kids and renovations are my life!

We change what we have every year....some years it's turkey, chicken, ham.....what ever we feel like that year. Plus I work every other Christmas which definitely plays a part in what we eat.

New Years....not usually a big celebration...but this year since I'm off and working Christmas...we are going to have a fondue party for two or three (we might let our daughter stay up)

Special note to all the parents that have children that might want to stay up til New Years.....set all the clocks in the house three hours ahead....that way everyone is happy!

Kids think they have gotten to stay up and parents still get some adult time!
