I can't wait for days off! UGH! I made a soup; chicken, lemon and barley with veggies....I've been eating it for four days.....I'm kinda getting sick of it! Not to mention that I put too much barley in so it's kinda like a stew! LOL!

I love barley.....I think I could almost eat it cooked with nothing else!  :teehee:

Haven't posted here in awhile...

Last night, we had home grown green beans cooked with a piece of country ham seasoning meat.   :yummy:

I am making a new chicken recipe to take with me for a visit to some friends' house this week. It's marinating right now. It sounds really good, so if it is I'll post a link to the recipe.

It marinates in a combo if buttermilk, tabasco, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. Then you roll it in a combo of bread crumbs, parmesan cheese and some other things and bake it. It's an oven fried chicken recipe.  Hope it's yummy.

Sure!

I'm going to cook it tonight then probably freeze it for a day until we leave Tuesday. So hopefully I can let you know what it looks like. Won't get to sample it until Tuesday night.

I'm eager to see what the Tabasco does to the chicken. There's 3 T in the marinade, but there are about 15 pieces of chicken. I'm thinking I'll get some flavor but not an overload of heat.   :chef:

I might even make an Indian inspired tea later tonight too!

I think the chicken recipe was pretty good!  I really liked the way it came out on the outside.

I marinated it for more than 24 hours. It wasn't spicy to me at all. If it is, it's so minimal that you wouldn't really notice.

I'm going to post a link to it in the recipe section.

LJ is that the chicken that you cooked, froze and brought to your friends?

A friend of ours brought his new wife who is from the Phillippines over for dinner tonight. I tried my hand at Lumpias {Egg rolls} and they turned out pretty darn good, she ate quite a few! I also made fried rice, which she LOVED!!!!!!  :yays:

Then Richard BBQed pork chops and I heated a can of green beans {which she loved too}!!!

What a sweet gal, we hit it off right away, she now wants to move closer to us! LOL  Love
