ARCADE COMPETITION

Warm up your fingers! Get ready to rumble!

Every two days, for the next two weeks, one game in the arcade will be chosen. The member who is the champion of the game after two days will be declared the grand champion.

I will announce the grand champions and the new games every other day so watch the board! Here is the lineup for the first two games:
 
COMPETITION 1: Video Poker
Begins: 23 June
Ends: Midnight, 25 June

COMPETITION 2: Wordjam
Begins: 25 June, 12:01 a.m.
Ends: Midnight, 27 June

THE SMILEY ART COMPETITION

As you know, we're all very fond of the vast collection of smileys here. And a lot of you get very creative using them. Well, this is your time to shine!

Starting tomorrow, there will be a thread on the forum titled "The Smiley Art Competition."  Create a post using as many smileys as you want. Draw a picture of your dog using only smileys. Tell a story using smileys. Make a freeform design with smileys. The possibilities are endless. Just be creative and have fun!

You may enter as many times as you wish. I will close the competition on 7 July and then everyone here will get to vote on a winner.

What do you win?

UYC,
I have to be honest and tell you this as you may not know it, but the game VideoPoker stores your last score even though you don't post it, so as I was the champion last time, my score is already pretty high, even though you removed the posted scores.

To be fair, you would have to erase everyone's last scores so everybody would bestarting with 0.  I hope this makes sense to you?

Lipstick, my score was gone until I started to play and then my score came back up. I'm not sure how to erase my old one!!!!

WWIT, that's what I was trying to tell UYC.  She was able to erase the scores we posted and saved, but the game itself saves the score from the last time you played, so it doesn't start at zero unless you have never played the game!

WWIT, I just looked and my old score is now posted too!  I don't know how to fix it, hopefully UYC does.  she might have to uninstall the game and reinstall it...I'm not that much of a computer guru...I know just enough to be dangerous  :biggrin:

The scores are gone on the record, but mine are still on the game itself,  i played a quick hand and they still stayed there.  They won't appear unless I save the score, but nothing would keep me from saving them.  I'll go in there and submit them so you can see what I mean,

Before they just appeared when we played another game.  The points are in the game itself, they appear as credits!  Hope this makes sense.

UYC, thegame credits within the game itself were still there.  I cashed out to show you what I will be startingwith if you can't clear the credits within the game.  The credits would be different for each individual user unless they had never played thegame before.

My game credits are 47334800, since that was my score when I last played!  Does this make sense?

If not, play a hand yourself and then go clear everything like you did before and then go back into the game, your credits will be your last score!

I understand, Lipstick, but what does it matter? I started the scores over. If you've scored that from the time I reset the scores, then you play again and get higher than that, the highest score is your last score.

What matters is the score at the end. The highest wins. You can play as many times as you want. You can build your jackpot, but you still have the risk of losing it so the carry over makes sense.

Am I wrong? Somebody tell me if this is screwy and I'll just ignore this game, move on to the next one when it's scheduled to start and find a replacement for this.

It's fine, it's just that when I save my scores, I will start out 47,000,000 + points higher than somebody who starts from scratch.  Just didn't want to cheat is all!

I thought I got everything. Haven't had time today to go back in and mess with it.
