I don't know if this is true or not but if is then WOW!!!  If it is not then it is just a great story....

Little something to put things in perspective...

After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park
The forest rangers began their trek up a mountain
to assess the inferno's damage.
One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes,
perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree.
Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight,
he knocked over the bird with a stick.
When he gently struck it,three tiny chicks scurried from
under their dead mother's wings.
The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster,
had carried her offspring to the base of the tree
and had gathered them under her wings,
instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise.
She could have flown to safety but
had refused to abandon her babies.
Then the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body.
The mother had remained steadfast. She had been willing to die,
so those under the cover of her wings would live.

"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge." (Psalm 91:4)

Being loved this much should make a difference in your life.
Remember the One who loves you, and then be different because of it.

What a beautiful story.  I have heard this one before, and have also heard similiar ones...

Animals are incredible -- God's creatures.

Why are humans so awful to them?  We suck sometimes...

Great Story.   I love that scripture.  Years ago my DH was in a car accident that totaled his car.  There wasn't a scratch on him and as I was thanking the Lord he brought that scripture to my remembrance.   My DH later relayed that when the other car hit him and his car was spinning, he felt like he was floating and that something was cushioning him. It was like he was dreaming for a few seconds and awoke just as his car came to a stop.   "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge." (Psalm 91:4)   He's got us covered.

Countess, those are the stories I love!!  When my dh was in his motorcycle accident in 2000 I asked him if he heard the angel's wings as he was thrown in the air!  We are so blessed to have our guardian angels to protect us!  I am so happy your dh was unhurt in his accident!

TUP and Jypsie now you've got me  crying.  That happened almost 20 years ago.  We had just gotten married and my dh had just bought a little red sports car.

God is awesome and I am so thankful.
Philippians 4: 6-7
"6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Sometimes we don't realize that "with thanksgiving" means to continually thank Him for what he has already done.  If we are reminded of what He's done, then we can have faith in, be assured about, and excited for , what he will do.
