I said a prayer for you today.
It made me smile to sit and pray.
To think of all the years gone by.
And remember how fast time can fly.

I said a prayer for you today.
I had so many things to say.
I ask that God would make you smile.
And maybe even laugh awhile.

I said a prayer for you today.
I asked for more time to play.
Time for us to sit and talk.
maybe time to take a walk.

I said a prayer for you today.
For you to be safe while I am away.
For the words that come from my pen
to keep you warm ‘til we meet again.

I said a prayer for you today.
For God to somehow find a way.
To help you see what is true
and to send my love out to you.
