Since the gratitude section has been kind of quiet lately I thought I'd post what has been going through my mind lately.

I am thankful that I live in this country.

Do you realize that the average person in this country lives like kings and queens compared to the rest of the world?

The things we take for granted--like potable water, indoor plumbing, and the fact that bombs aren't going off around us every day--need to be reflected upon I think.

I know that so often I don't appreciate what I have to some degree. I am lucky in so many ways and abundant in so many things.

I couldn't agree with you more, UYC.  I was sitting in traffic for an hour and a half this morning, started to angry, and then thought "Hey, wait a minute.  At least I have a car....at least I have a job to go to....I hope no one is hurt if there is an accident up ahead of me...." you know--stuff like that.

I am grateful for so many things in my life.  I believe I need to focus more on them instead of the bad things.  Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention!!

I totally agree LJ and Kathy! Since hubby came home from Iraq we have a new appreciation for the US. The freedom we have here, to disagree politically, to speak out, to pretty much do whatever we want! I mean, you can kill someone here, and spend the rest of your life in prison, which is still better than most third world citizens live! How sad is that...
