My oldest son was in a head-on collision late last night with another vehicle.  He was with a group of kids who had been to a high school dance and his friend was driving a Suburban. They turned into a Montero being driven by a high school classmate coming home from a regional church dance. She was life-flighted to the University hospital, while her two passengers were taken by ambulance to Jordan Valley.

I drove him to JV to be checked out. He has bruises from the seatbelt, like other passengers in the Suburban, but other than that and being sore, he's going to be okay; as is everyone else involved--including the driver of the other vehicle. Everyone's home from the hospital.

All day long as they had been out and about he hadn't been wearing a seat belt--until that particular time; which he was. One of the girls was prompted to tell him as they were leaving to take his date home that he needed to wear the seat belt this time or he'd walk home.

Seeing the vehicles myself, I don't understand how there weren't more life-threatening injuries... I'm just so thankful that the worst injury was a broken arm or a broken wrist.

Anyway, I just had to share my (not so small) miracle from last night.

Snoopy Laura, I'm so glad that your son is OK. That invincible-ness can disappear in the blink of an eye. Thanks be to God that he is safe and unharmed.

Snoopy Laura -- Praise God that your son was not seriously injured!!  And praise God that everyone is home from the hospital.  We think about "what could have happened" and it just scares us to death.  I can envision angels surrounding those vehicles as they collided, making sure that injuries were minimal, but also making sure that everyone had learned a lesson from the accident.

Oh Snoopy L     bighug  bighug    A teen in a car accident has got to be one of a parent's worst nightmares.  Thank the Lord that they are all ok.  I think you said it best in the title of this thread.  This is no small miracle!  I can only praise God for his marvelous ways and for protecting those kids thus preventing the heartache of many parents.  Thank God for that friend who insisted your son put that seat belt on.  Praise God for miracles!!!
