Remembering VT victims & families forever

« Reply #45 on: May 03, 2008, 10:22:27 AM »

I love lifting but not so much cardio.  I really have to push mysellf to do it but I'm still plugging away.  With me the biggest issue is that no matter how hard I exercise if I don't change the eating habits,  I get no where.   I went to the Dr. this morning and I was excited to see that I had lost 10lbs from the last time I was there a couple of months ago.   Basically I've cut back on the soda's/sweet tea and opted for water or unsweetened tea.   I've been cooking very light suppers - mainly lean chicken and fish and loads of steamed veggies if  snack during the day it's on nuts and fruits - not chips so much but I do find the 100 calorie snack packs very handy and tasty  when I'm craving that salty taste.

Sassy C - honestly - if I was your size -  I wouldn't be worrying about a thing.  I'd go for daily strolls and continue to do what I was doing.  You look great girl!!!!!!!!!

Just checking in. I'm excited because I joined the fitness center where I work. I work and a large University and the fitness center is just across the street from where I park.  A few of my co workers and I are going after work.  I'm sticking to 3 nights per week thus far!

Does coughing up a lung and sneezing count as cardio or aerobics?  :laugh3:

Well technically you are using energy and burning calories....guess it depends on what your intake is!  :mato :teehee:

Okay...so I'm still running with my daughter...my body hurts and I hate it!

But my daughter is sooo loving it! She thinks it hilarious that she can run circles around her old momma!  :teehee:

That's great Sassy C.  I wish I were better at running.  Oh my I dread that.   I finally got my bicycle fixed so I am going to be riding around the neighborhood some on the weekends.

I've been going to the Gym on a regular basis and I've been  working on the treadmill and the elliptical trainier.  I've also been riding the bike on weekends.  This week I lost  0lbs nadda - soooo frustrating!

I signed up for a personal training session! - Can't wait!

The only running I do is "run behind"   :bliss:

And, Countess, the personal trainer - OMG - that would scare me to death!  I got an e-mail joke about a woman whose daughter bought her sessions with a personal trainer - I deleted the e-mail but it was like the Mother's Diary, something like, Day 1 - Bright cheerful fit young lady who is so sweet to help me get into shape, and by Day 4 - Devil in workout clothes

Well how's it going now Countess? Did you enjoy your personal trainer?

Running is out for me......darn ankles....(~sigh~ choking back tears....trying not to scream-a-loud with frustration)

My daughter and I play a new game....how many times she can lap me around the property while I walk and she runs.

I signed up for one but they haven't called me yet.  This is very annoying because I already paid for the session.  I work at a University so the PT's are very busy.  They said it would take 10 days to contact me but it's been more than that already.
