rofl rofl  You guys are cracking me up.   Sorry I've been scarce lately.  Last week I was out of town for some training in Lexington Ky.  It was a Victor free week and    YES!  I do sometimes want to kill Victor especially when he says "how's that or how's that feel"  in the middle of a set of lunges or while making be do a set of planks and crunches.  I'm looking at him with gritted teeth saying "how do you think it feels".... but I am doing it without complaining too much.  I only have 4 more sessions with Vic.

Tam we can really only take one day at a time.  When I feel very tired I just skip the workout.  I'm trying to get out of that "instant gratification" mode.  In the past, if I didn't see results immediately, I would just give up.  I'm in it for the long term this time.

I thought it would be fun to give you guys a run down of what Victor had me doing today ( today was a leg intensive workout)

We start off with a warm up on the eliptical then it's straight to squats -

3 sets with the ball between my back and the wall
3 sets of hover squats
Leg curls on the machine
Leg extensions on the machine
3 sets of lunges
Several different sets & variety of crunches - traditional - reverse - knees up, legs up and arms reaching to toes
Planks
Back machines - rows and lat pull downs,  Lower back machine
bicep curls  with free weights  3 sets alternating curls  3 sets 3 counts up 1 count down - 3 sets 1 count up  5 counts down :lift:
Leg lifts and bicycles

And the whole time during the leg lifts he's actually asking  "how's that feel"   :nocmmnt:

All this made for about an hour workout.

Sassy - I'm still working on the diet thing - that's the hardest part for me but I know it's the most important.

WWIT - thanks and I was so sorry to hear about your friend's husband    bighug

You'll get there!  Love

One way to look at it when you are making dinner choices is "Do I want to undo all that hard work Victor made me do by choosing a less then optimal meal choice (ie McDonald's drive thru?) :teehee:

I'm a bit jealous of your motivation to exercise! I know that's the biggest shortfall for me in my "healthy lifestyle"!

Victor doesn't talk about diet.  He's only about 20 or 21 and strictly an exercise guy.  Actually I saw him at the gym last night but I made sure he didn't see me.

I'm not any specific diet.  I try to eat healthy 90% of the time.  The main thing with me is not what I eat - It's those drinks -  sweet tea and the dreaded cokes.  When I cut back on those, I can see a difference.

You've inspired me Countess!

I actually got my butt on the treadmill again! That's twice in the last three days! I'm gonna get on everyday even if it's on 10 mins at a time! That I can do! Realistic goals!

Sassy - You hit the nail on the head with "Realistic goals"!  Regardless of what it is, if you THINK you can't, you probably can't!  I've been working with a timer doing stuff I know I "can't" do if faced with the entire project at 1 time, but I know I CAN work on this project for 15 minutes at a time!  I'm not finished YET, but 15 minutes at a time and I WILL get it done!

Sassy, Tam!   You are so right.  Realistic Goals!   I like that.   I always want to lose like 20lbs in a month which is sooooooo unrealistic for me.   REALISTIC  - Now that's inspiring!

WWIT - I see you are kicking butt on some of those games over in the Arcade -  Keep up the good work!

Ah yes, realistic... maybe that's why I keep falling of the wagon!  I've just been applying the KISS method: "Keep It Simple, Stupid!".   :teehee:
Most diets are so complicated it's hard to keep them up long-term.  Just being active in the day-to-day activities and being mindful to run around and have fun with the kids has been paying off for me.
Going for a walk every day w/ the kids and the dog is the main thing.  The kids and I play soccer outside, and other things like gardening, berry picking (which here involves hiking), swimming at the lake w/ them, etc. have helped.  I don't have the time or the motivation to exercise just for the sake of exercise.  I finally had to come to terms with that.  Although I've been thinking it'd be smart to park the eliptical machine in front of the TV.  :teehee:

What's everyone been up to?  I'm still working out.  I had Victor last night and it wasn't pretty.  He worked me so hard that I couldn't do one more push up.  Did I mention I hate push ups - especially the ones when you have to lay across the ball and dip down.

I'm thinking about doing the cycling/spinning class. It starts next week.
