Yes, Sassy is closer. Except for the fact that I am lactose intolerant so it was water.  :laugh3:

Hey, does anyone know if there is a way to get the benefits of yogurt (the active cultures) without having to actually eat yogurt? I would love it if there was a pill form or something. I am lactose intolerant and maybe that is why I can't bring myself to eat yogurt. If I had a choice between that and licking the floor, I would really have to think hard. lol Is it my own floor we're talking about?  :teehee:

Anyway, if anyone knows anything about yogurt alternatives I would be very interested.

Yes Julie you can get pill form acidophillus. I would recommend looking in the refridgerated section of your local health store and find a capsule that has a couple different "good" bacterias and lots of them....somewhere in the billions per capsule.

I have some and I can't think of the brand off the top of my head....and I add it to my smoothies when I don't use yogurt. (I break open the caps and pour em in) :teehee:

Thanks, Sassy! I had heard of that before but could not come up with the name.

I don't know, WWIT. I think it is the texture and the look of the stuff as well as the lactose issues. Although I am sure having lactose issues is what trained me to associate that texture and look with   It's like that with cream cheese, sour cream and cottage cheese. Forget cottage cheese. I would lick the sidewalk before eating that.  :teehee:  It was so funny when I had a litter of puppies, I wanted to give them that as a starter food because it is so high in protein. And I would be gagging as I prepared their breakfast. Gave my family a good :laugh3: Some of these I can eat when they are an ingredient in something cooked, but I can't bring myself to just put something like that in my mouth.

Weird, eh?

Hmm, I've never actually measured.....it's about 1 cup of almonds to 2 cups of water?? Depends on how "strong" you want it I guess!

Don't forget to save the almonds afterwards to throw into some muffins or pancakes!     Waste not, want not.

I take a chewable Lactobacillus acidophilus pill. I got it at Whole Foods. It is strawberry flavored and yummy smiley

A pharmacy here sells those pills over the counter, just in case anyone needed ideas of more places to get them.  I shall be leaving the bowel movement discussion now...  :nocmmnt:
