I have a small goal - you would think it would be doable! I'm 5' 8" 133 lbs, mother of 3 and would just like to firm up my saddlebags and rear. I think a 5 pound loss would do it. I started walking, doing some toning exercises and drinking tons more water. How long will it take? Who knows? But I'll be happy to be the hot mom chasing her kids in a bikini, too!
I would also like a magic pill to increase bust size - any suggestions there?

teammom, you don't need to lose weight!!!
I was told that at 5'4" with three kids that would be on the mid to high end of ideal, if that makes sense...
I'd say just tone up your muscles!!!!

Snoopy - I know, I know. It stinks, but I know. If only I liked exercise as much as doughnuts- sure would make things easier

Well, I've tried Weight Watchers, Atkins and South Beach....ugh....Slim Fast, TrimSpa and other assorted weight loss pills. I do want to lose weight, but I'm probably going to just do the "baby steps" approach now since committing to a plan makes me want to scream I started walking....there's a path by my house..it's really beautiful. And Family Circle Magazine is doing this walking program that challenges the readers to walk 75 miles by sometime in July...well, i think I can...anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I want to lose about 40 lbs.....and have about 45 to go.... Remember, I'm a scorpio, and I'm passionate...especially about food...I don't even have to be hungry.....i just love to eat..... well, good luck to us all.....

Well, no one has posted on this thread since May... but I'm going to chime in hoping that I am talking to someone other than myself. I am seriously addicted to chocolate. I am 5' 4.5" and was 117 lbs. on my wedding day. My lowest weight was 103. I think 120 lbs. would be a realistic, healthy goal. I had my DD before I got married, and went up to 152 lbs. by delivery day. I thought that was big then but would do anything now to be ONLY 152. I lost the weight quickly b/c my job back then required extreme outdoor physical activity. Then I got married and started buying and cooking stuff DH likes - no more of my non-fat stuff. I went up to 130 lbs over the course of 3 years. Then I got pregnant w/ my 1st son and gained 50 lbs in pregnancy again, this time landing at 180 on delivery day. I lost down to 150 fairly easily, and then down to 140 over more time. Then the military moved us (again) but this time to a new climate, no friends/family, DH was being told he'd go to Iraq... I ate lots of comfort food and sweets. I'm an emotional eater. Gained back the 10 lbs and then got pregnant again w/ 2nd son, and this time I was 198 on delivery day. I lost down to 168 at one point, but have steadily gained it back and then some. My emotional eating has gotten me all the way up to 220. I know all about nutrition, organic stuff, flax seed oil, getting your omega's, not eating hydrogenated crap, but I do it anyhow. I have to begin a better lifestyle. It all comes down to making hard but better decisions and finding different ways of dealing w/ life. I don't like the way I look now, I won't even go shopping for clothes b/c nothing looks right on such a lumpy blob. I've done alot of changing on the inside and so who I am on the outside doesn't represent me correctly anymore. I want to get my body back. Not even to be a sexy hot mamma. Just to be a healthy person, to be a good model to my kids, to have more confidence in the bedroom w/ DH, to have more energy for that and for the kids as well, etc. etc. etc. There are a million reasons why. I can't keep ignoring them. So... This will be my 1st week. I'm not on any program, I'll just use common sense, portion-control, and not bring the bad foods into my house in the first place. My goal is to exercise at least 4x by a week from now. That may not sound like alot but I also became sedentary for a long time there. I have to get me back.

Hey girls! RTP- I am right there with you for all the same reasons (2 babies too..)! thanks for bringing attention to this thread again! I too am committed to eating healthier, not bringing the bad stuff in the house, & exercise/ activity regularly. I am looking for a good/fun exercise dvd to do at home when I am home bound- any suggestions? I am thinking kick boxing or some kind of dance thing- I love both.

freethinker - I go to the local library w/ my kids once a week or so and just started checking out exercise videos. That way I have a variety for the week and don't have to do the same old thing over and over. Or just close the curtains and turn up the music and dance! Winsor Pilates is good in that if you focus on the techniques you can really feel it working. But fun? Tony Little has some from the early '90's that are fun to laugh at, he's so goofy w/ his mullet and "You can doooooo it!!!!". But I'm one that likes to watch old Soul Train episodes just to look at how different (i.e., wierd ) the hair, clothes, music and dancing were. My mom really likes that dancing one - no, not Richard Simmons! That Zumba one. There's also whatserfaces' strip-dance exercise program, that chic from Desperate Housewives that was also Lois on Superman years ago. That could be interesting, but not in front of the kids!

HEY GUESS WHAT!!?? I just did a 3-day "re-start" over the weekend and I don't feel the urge to go buy a donut, ice cream, etc. I did it for spiritual reasons, but I'll take this side effect. I stepped on the scale for the 1st time since, ...well, ...since I first posted here I suppose, and I've lost about 5 lbs (I say "about" b/c it depends on where you put the scale on the b/r floor, the floor slopes - in 1 place it said I lost 8 lbs, lol). It's finally finally some progress! I have gone so long knowing all my problems/reasons for having gained this weight inside out, but acknowledgment isn't enough. It's taking that first, super-hard step toward change, and accepting change. For me, change didn't look too appealing. I wanted the end result but not the work it takes to get there. This morning while I was driving I had a sudden remembering of the smell of an Egg McMuffin from McNasties, and I really wanted one. I thought hard about what it is about it that I want, went home, and made my own home-made one. Maybe not lighter on calories, but certainly lighter on chemicals. I feel like to turn back now would be making all the "work" I've done this far be in vain. We'll see... How is everyone else doing?

Congratulations on your first 5 (or 8) pounds off! Feels good eh? You should be proud that your starting to replace your old poor choice habits with new healthier ones! I've been doing better....I'm getting a workout cleaning our new house and sanding floors! We are cooking every night again! Ahh feels so good to be eating good fresh healthy food again! My husband lost 10lbs by just moving and working around the house.... How can guys just work a bit harder and loose weight? It's not freaking fair! RTP Did you ever get the book?
