When I first set up the board, I had to decide whether or not to let members delete or edit their posts. I really didn't want to, but I decided to allow it and see how it went.

I have been on several boards and many times you see a thread started where someone will say something mean or controversial and start a whole, huge nasty discussion. Then, they go back and edit their post(s) or delete everything in it. It makes the whole board disconnected. And I don't think, at the very least, it's a nice thing to do.

Some antics over the past few days and some additional events have made me decide to remove the option for you to delete or edit your posts. Let's see how this works out. If you REALLY hate it, I'll change back. But all the deleting and editing done over the past few days really screwed with people here and I don't like it.

If you feel something needs to be edited or deleted, there is a Report to Moderator link at the bottom of each post. That will send that post, and a comment you can leave, to the moderator so we adjust the post if necessary.

Oh  bleepme !

Too much typing the last few days...

Yes. I forgot to mention that moderators can, of course, edit and delete. If something is way out of line, they can take care of it. If you posted something and you want to revise, just post again. Or if it's really bothering you, moderators can get rid of it at your request. But I want to avoid too much of this.

Just so you know, I have the last word on what happens. Moderators can't go crazy and delete things all over the place. If there is an edit, you will see a notation about at the end of the post. Hey...if I worried about what my moderators would do, they wouldn't be my mods!

Thanks Mlle

UYC,  I think that's good.  If someone screws up and double posts or something, they can always get a moderator to edit it for them.  I'm on several boards that do this.

Hello! Is there anyway that we can have the Edit/Modify on the Trading Board to modify posts there and not have it on the other places? Just a thought.

Edit/Modify in the Inventory section would be wonderful.  My trade/sell list was changing so much I had to remove it completely.  The moderator would have gone crazy trying to keep up with my edits.

Please, is it possible for a section?  Or is it one of those program things that is all or nothing?  Oh, I hope not.

Done!  smiley

Laura has changed the trading board and you can now modify or delete posts in that section of the board only...

Sickie, I will delete those for you.  But you should be able to!  Open the post, scroll to the bottom and on the left you should see delete or modify...

PinkBabyPoo, you are a newbie so you can't!  smiley  Sorry I forgot to add that...  You still have to send updates or deletes to me until you are no longer a newbie!

NOPE!  At the TOP right there was a "remove" button and that didn't work.  There was nothing on the bottom left, because I looked as you told me about it before and it worked....hmmmmm.....

Thanks for taking care of me!   Love

Aww, that sucks. That's ok. Thanks for doing it for the other ladies. When I am not considered a newbie? What do I have to do to get out of being one?
Would there be anyway to let everyone delete/modify their inventory trading board posts instead of the just the older members?
