It depends.  The posts have a quote button that you can click on and it will do it automatically for you.  Or,  you can type or copy and paste something you want quoted, highlight what you want quoted and then click on the quote icon.

I'm sure there's an easier way to explain...

Okay...

If you click on the Quote icon/word at the right of a post, it will put that entire post in quotes and put it in the quick post box at the bottom of the page.  You can then continue to type your response. The quote of the other message will show at the top of your message in a blue highlighted box.

If you hit the reply button, you can use the quote button to only quote a portion or several portions of a person's post.

Just highlight the sentence or phrase you want to quote (you can do this in their message before you hit reply or after you hit reply, by scrolling down below the reply box (what I'm typing in now) and you will see all the previous replies to the topic below there. You can highlight the passage you want to quote there.

Then, click on the little quote button above the smilies. It is in the second row and looks like a yellow "talk" balloon.

That enters the [] with the words quote and /quote. With your cursor between those two sets of brackets, right click your mouse and select "paste" (or do a CTRL V)

In any event, what you want to quote should end up between [1stquoteword] and [/2ndquote]

Does that make sense?

I've been trying to figure out how to just quote a portion of the post and this helped me out.  Thanks Cheers
