Think about it ... you have THOUSANDS of people all trying to sell the same crap imports in their "internet store". This is what economists call a zero-profit condition: No barriers to entry mean no big profits. Your chances of making a lot of money - or even making a living - in a low-barrier industry are low, because so many people are trying to get a slice of the pie for themselves. Rule of thumb: Anything advertised on late-night TV as a "business opportunity" probably isn't.

How about a "job" = you know, where you show up and do things with other grownups and get paid for it.

It's garbage. You're buying merchandise for way over the real wholesale cost and selling it for a profit, but that merchandise is a dime a dozen. And how are you going to sell it to and to whom? Just hand out catalogs? Why would anyone want it?
Stay away.

Yes, get a job, that's what I did, I have school age kids, so I got a job at one of the high schools buy me and I work 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 in the afternoon. Its so nice to be appriciated and get paid for it, no worries about mileage, supplies, what I sold, keeping up with inventory, etc, etc, etc. Now I go to work, come home, and I'm done. Then go back and do it again, then every 2 weeks I get a PAYACHECK , I LOVE IT!!!!!.
Real money and I don't have to put it back in my so called business. Which I never made money in this anyway, but I sure did get in alot of debt.

"making a living Without a Job" Is a nice book that tells u a few ways to make money .. 1. assess whatyou have.. a computer. can u use it to make money 2 cleaning materisla. 3 a sewing maching a saw
Do more than one thing what are you talented at.. Could you give walking tours of an historic district in your town.. Could you teach crochet at the adult ed programof your school ? Can u charge peopl eto get them caught up on say..their scrapbooking.. Are you into physical fitness.. could you charge to show up and exercise with a few women? Do you have veggies to sell from your garden? Hair bows u make? Could u make and deliver sandwiches to .. say anglers fishing someplace near you? Could you go to someones home and whip up a meal for them if they don't want to cook? Pick up groceries for a few busy people?

A friend of mine just started doing some work as a personal chef. She is a great cook, has always loved to try new recipes and now has an empty nest. She started doing dinners for a couple of families and just by word of mouth in 6 months she has more business than she wants.

Uses existing skills, has little or no investment, and she can work at her own pace. (who does the dishes?)
